She cant believe it and neither can I, it's about time Freo blooded some kids - they should have played one or two if not all of them round 1.

The injection of 3 young kids with pace might inspire a better performance from the Dockers this week and dare I say it drive through the middle of the ground. Ibbotson is lightning quick, one to watch for sure :thumbsu:

Will be interested in seeing Palmer play as we took Myers one spot before him. Going by hype id expect him to get 25 possessions and 2 goals. Wish the kid the best of luck:thumbsu:

freo over reacted because of the media. blooding too many at once is not good since they will probably only have limited possessions and impact and may leave them short on the bench.

Hard to accept the reasoning for Palmer being left for round 1. Harvey said they needed an older and more experienced side. For a start they played a side with 10 21 and under players but it is the older more experienced players that have let them down year after year in Melbourne. Palmer looked promising in the pre season and is a bit quicker than the plod squad they have through the lines. I though that was a particularly poor, and surprisingly from Harvey, timid selection. He was a certainty to come in this week. Don’t know enough about most of the Freo youth to judge but after round 1 they were always going to make these sort of changes.

The problem with Freo is that they win these games and then drop the next. They need to change that by changing the players. They are trying to win a flag with proven failures. It makes no sense at all. If they don’t make the 8 and win a final this year they need to cull 10 players but do they have the ticker to do that? Maybe these 3 kids and a couple more over the course of the year will make them see the light.

Bear in mind they are the oldest side before these changes and these 3 are the only newish players. If their older side can’t cope with 3 players possibly going in and out of the game then its time to bite the bullet and get of the hacks that aren’t cutting it not go back to the failed formula.

Mcmanus 9 posessions. Mark Johnson 10 and Matt Carr 15 (even though they're still playing)
Now I know who I'd rather be getting 35 possesions between them.

So when Black and Solomon come back lets hope Carr and Johnson are out

if they perform like below par in a number of games then they should be dropped, but it was the first game, and it appears freo has panic because of the media.

Umm. Thread starter may like to look at this stat for the w/end :

StKilda's average age is 25.6 this weekend.. are they going to cop it if they lose? They have 5 recycled players/traded players playing this weekend.

Freo :It is 25.27 years

Considering that they are playing Carlton, my guess would be yes.

Its more the point that they have 5 recycled players, and their average age is older than ours.
Where is Walls, et al when you look at the statistics like these.
The media is a "witchhunt" specialist.

palmers bloody keen to get out there, i was speaking to him last sunday he's my little bro's best mate, he's got his head screwed on thats for sure, barely drinks anymore since he got drafted, rarely goes out with the lads and you will be surprised how well he will adapts to the rigours of afl footy, has the build to step straight in.....
all the best to him, dont know bout the rest of the team tho..... :p

I find myself in the unusual position of defending the Dorks - they had to include three players as McManus and Black are injured and Solomon suspended - they did not in fact "panic" due to media prressure.

Just found it he has a karate black belt, probably a reason why his head is screwed on the right way for his age.

Explain the gif...NOW!!! :p

Is the heroes chick yeah? Wtf is she so excited about? Looks like I just walked in with my pants down or something ;)

I'm a West Coast supporter, but i am starting to get very annoyed at the WA media recently . Mark Harvey is shot for playing the older players, then he is shot for playing some youth, now suddenly he is reactive to the media?
In terms of Fremantle they have made their desicions, now the entire playing group has to start believing they can win a premiership. It's then & only then will the desicions that the club has made can truly be assessed.
I don't think they believe it themselves, but then again it is only round 1. Fremantle at this point need to stick to their guns, show the experienced boys that they are still valued at the club, then maybe we will be talking differently of Fremantle at the end of the year.
