Yeah killed on one wing. Aish was good on the other side when he was there. Mids mostly beaten up.

Too many down games from the players that are supposed to connect the back and front halves.
Freddy, Henry, Switta, Shutlz were all terrible. Sturt tantalised again, that kick to Amiss and his goal were brilliant. If only he could get involved more.
The players who get by on effort or pace or pressure but can't handle a ball cleanly in the wet were really shown up, particularly Shultz, Freddy and Banfield.

Fyfe was for the most part woeful. At his best he has the ball on a string and sees the game better than most but he is constantly fumbling and out of position, can't get his timing for marking. The only time he came alive briefly we started dominating.

Amiss and Johnson are stars in the making, Amiss is already elite. That mark in the rain, incredible.

Poor selection and poor coaching. I know Brodie wasn't available but feel now Erasmus would have given much more than Henry who I don't think deserves to play again.

As has been noted just letting Bolton win the game without giving some thought to sending someone to him is inexcusable.

Also, and this my pet bugbear. We still have no set plays for bringing the ball out of defence from kick ins. Richmond would just kick it as quickly as possible to anyone wide and then run in support. We sit there for an eternity while Ryan looks around then when their zone is all set we bomb it to Jackson or whoever and they of course have their rucks and onballers waiting at the drop zone. Its so predictable and a big part of why we lost.

I simply can't understand why this fundamental part of the game has been completely undressed in the last 3 years.

A bit to like but ultimately extremely disappointed considering what was at stake.

One thing that annoyed me with Ryan was he took a mark and had clark running behind him waiting for the dish off. Instead he ignored him, took his time and then bombed it

I believe the scuttlebutt from the time was that Richmond was looking to get ahead of us to take Amiss and we had to threaten to do similar if they did to keep them away from him
I think we really would have planned to go up if Richmond did it , as Jye was so highly rated by us. May be like pick 8 and 10 for a top5 pick and a late first rounder? We will still be getting Amiss,Johnson,Goater , or Amiss, JVR, Johnson?

We got to within 8 points at around the 10 minute mark of the 4th quarter. Then I have no idea what happened, but we stopped playing like we wanted to win and played like we were 30 points up. Too many cute kicks and stupid mistakes cost us massively in those last 10 minutes of the game.

Another game that we should've won gone missing.
We lost momentum at this exact point - when Aish was KO’d by some Richmond player.

Hughes robbed for goal of the year.
When you really look at it then the whole touches the post = 1 point thing is kinda dumb. Like obviously makes sense when it bounces of the post and doesn't go through, but losing a goal because it grazes the back part of the post after going through? Like who thought of that?

Disappointing result but thought we showed some guts with the fightback.

Couldn’t go with Richmond’s surge. Stoppage structure was poor with a constant loose for richmond goal side. few knocks forwards and then off they went. Rinse and repeat. Frustrating as that is richmond's one wood. Banfield, freddy and switta were in no mans land - needed to press up way more and release but were all at sea for large parts.

Positive are obviously johnson and amiss. thought sturt was OK and would like to see him stay in - few good pressure acts, including a ripping sequence in the last quarter in the middle of the ground where he impacted multiple times at pace.

I swear to God you guys are actually trying to gaslight people into thinking Banfield was anything but completely invisible. He had 9 pressure acts (Sturt had 23 by the way FreoRicci, 5th most for us) and 1 tackle to go along with his 2 ineffective disposals.

Walters had 7 PA and 1 tackle in a quarter and a half. He was statistically and from watching the actual game, clearly the biggest passenger of the night by far and we were immediately better once Walters took his spot
Fair call.
The forwards played so poorly tonight. Sturt actually made some things happened- set up Amiss’ second and the goal from the boundary.
Frederick was dreadful. Abysmal

My friend, you may spread the word of Amiss as much as you like, this place will never get tired of it. Kid is basically already our 2nd greatest forward ever

We got destroyed in the stoppage clearances and everything else, except the atrocious turn overs in the fourth trying to move the ball forward were a result of that.

Amiss is a special player. I left the ground feeling excited about the future, even if that's not this season.

For his age and skinny build, how does Amiss manage to out position his opponents so well? If he beefs up even a little he's going to be steamrolling the best of them.

It’s pace, he’s so quick off the mark. It’s reading the flight of the ball before the defender. He’s rolled gold.

Treacy from a rookie pick is something else too.

backline has really let themselves down this season, obviously not helped tonight with the dominance richmond had early at the stoppages. no one on our side was half way as clean as bolton was, incredible how much space and time we allowed him even at stoppages, meanwhile fyfe seemingly had an oppo glued to him at all
times when he got near the ball so was largely ineffectual

defence were just a joke tbh, 50% of the time they were scoring inside 50. pearce had another shocker, letting riewoldt get away from him at his prehistoric age is a joke. cox was genuinely laughable, idk how many times the ball went over our heads just for a richmond player to clean it up and score.. clark had good intent but again was just dead sloppy. young was good and hard up until the last when he was giving the ball away for fun. maybe should have had walker push up to the contest and stick onto bolton no one else could go with him

at least we had johnson and amiss, stars already. i think the mature bodies of the tigers didn’t allow us much space at all tho tbf and while MJ still managed to break 90% of tackles, wasn’t as clean as the last couple games, still great tho

smalls we’re mostly crap until walters came on

also the ground is **** jesus what an embarrassment

Yep seems like a familiar story. If we get beaten at the clearances/stoppages our whole team falls apart.

Yeah I love Treacy, that dropped chest mark after Fyfe speared it at him hurt though.

It really showed the difference in class when Fyfe speared the exact same bullet at Amiss who took it with ease.

I don't expect Treacy to be Amiss though. Two Amisses wouldn't be fair on the rest of the comp.

wasn’t quite the same though. Amiss hit his standing up. Treacy was sliding in on his knees
