And he has done it on all 3 surfaces already.
He beat Novak on grass, he beat Zverev at the peak of his powers on clay. Just needs more consistency on hard to bank more ATP1000 and GS trophies.

Nadal never had a forehand like that. Anytime it went close to him on that side in the 5th, it was smashed out of the park. Was González like. He did the same thing against Sinner. Just a crazy ability to take it to another level and try to win the match. Most players try to not lose it the match, a few go the other way and can't get the ball in play. Carlos seems to find the happy medium, more often than not.

As for Zverev. You donkey, win the 3rd set, you were on top. And then choke, get angry, frustrated and lose the plot. 6-1, 6-2 in the last 2 sets, which took about 40 mins each. Showcases an inability to win the big points. He really should work on that problem. He will never be a Grand Slam champion unless he gets in a final with someone with bigger issues then him.
