Freo and west coast have no salary cap, they just get sponsors to pay players directly outside of salary cap or get them invloved in investments on the cheap.
eg. real estate agent paying player for minimal work, developer getting player involved in investment well below the asking rate / market value

In reality Eagles dont have players like Tarrant on 400k and Solomon on 250k who they just drafted to the club. Eagles also got rid of alot of salary cap pressure by getting rid of Gardiner and Phil Matera. If either of those 2 still played no doubt we would be in salary cap trouble. Your team added 500k salary cap over the trade period whereas we lost 700k so its a different situation really
Dont ask me why this is in Bay 13. Every media outlet in WA is reporting it and know it. Sandilands offer was rejected and everyone is saying it was around 250k which is ridiculous

Fact is...even the all knowing W.A media doesnt know how much the players are on.
Cox, Judd, Cousins, Kerr would all be on massive contracts.
Glass, Lynch and a number of those Utility types will be demanding massive contracts.
Eagles are under salary cap pressures too..All clubs are.
I'll tell you why.

In other words you didnt like it? Timing, what else do we talk about in January. I wouldnt waste my time trolling Freo in January either and my sources are about 5 fricken different media outlets in WA.
Theres alot of time left and Freo might solve the problem but I got a feeling they will be looking to get rid of someone to make the room.
Lynch and Glass resigned last year IIRC. There arnt alot of players for us to resign this year as alot signed up last year

It says in the sunday times that Sandilands has recieved an offer from Freo that is about 25% of his market value.

And YES both papers are crap but 1 has more information in it than the other.

The joke lies, (as has ben mentioned in other posts), in the timing of the article, the original poster of the thread and the complete lack of journalistic standards and quality at the Sunday Times. It was a filler piece at a quiet time of the year, written by a journo who has little, if any, ability.
Also mate, the art of negotition is all about not where you start but where you finish!!
I would give it a lot more credibility if it was being written about in 9 months time. Until then I give it no credence at all.

Are you familiar with the term secession??
We have a long standing fued with the Eastern States over many things.
The current W.A. V8 economy propping up the nation is just the latest addition.
And I guess that resentment has flowed into sport.

WA economy is booming atm and should for some time but it hasnt always.
The term secession is used in WA by some very,very narrow minded people. WA could not survive without the eastern states and vice versa. But that is a totally different arguement and im not going to get into that with you.
What i would like to ask you, yet again, is why was MY reference to Sandilands a joke in relation to this thread? It is what the thread is about.
see if you can answer that question this time rather than divert attention through some pathetic long lasting fued that is a joke in relation to this thread.

parker, cook, macca, hadril (like him but cant see him being on the list for much longer) possibly bennet if he doesnt show something special.
remember there are others who arent young anymore like bell, old carr as well as those who havent shown much the last few years like walker and browne.
whilst the losses in the first group would hurt the club (ish) parker and cook have been replaced (or can be) by freos current back line and cook by solomon. macca's replacement would more be a spiritual thing.
but that a lot of people that could possibly be cleaned out (not to mention that pav is out of contract, but lets ignore that atm) so im sure that if freo were dead keen on keeping sandi there wouldnt be a problem with finding the money too.
and if sandi does a polak and turns his back on the club young robbie warnock is showing some great signs in the wafl and if he bulks up like he has over the last year he could be a great ruckman in the next few years.

There will be no comparison between Warnock and Sandilands. Sandi is going to be one of tbe great ruckman in football history. His combination with Longmuir is going to be something special over the years.
The money will be afforded to him.Either way, he wouldn't be heading over East. Being from Mt.Barker, it's a mighty long way to fly back to Perth then drive/fly back to Mt.Barker to visit home. The Eagles might try poach him to replace Seaby, but I can't see them trumping us on this one.

How much had Sandilands shown at Warncock's age? I seem to remember as recent as a few years go the big fella looking rather useless in all areas of the game other than hit outs.
All giants require/deserve time.
Warnock is munching plates of garlic as we speak.

I have been educated by a friend a little more on Warnock and I gotta retract that last statement of mine. I think I've been mixing him up with Ibbotson. Shame on me
