Wuh? It's still called Wanneroo.

Anyway, I find it hard to laugh at the '****'burn jokes, as I've known it as 'Co'burn for so long. I guess easten staters will find more humerous.
I heard it had changed. Maybe I'm thinking of balga turning into Westminster.

Personally I'm sad to see us leave Freo (if nothing else it was a great place to spend a morning after watching training) but I guess you need all the advantages you can get in the big bad AFL, and it sounds like the new site will have a lot more room for future expansion.

Almost exactly how I feel.

Freo can be a bit of a chokepoint to get in and out of, traffic wise.

You been that way lately mate? It is almost as bad, if not worse than Fremantle if they go along Beeliar Drive which I assume most would. If the council do nothing about it between now and then it will be even worse. They said one of the upsides of the deal will be increased traffic through the area but that can only be seen as a downside IMO.

We'll do the transmitting and the rest of the comp will be on the receiving end. I'm led to believe from my feather cross town friends that it's better to have **** Burn than Arse Burn. ;)

WHAT THE NEW FACILITY WILL OFFER THE DOCKERS
A media release from the Dockers today highlighted what the new set-up will provide:
- AFL standard oval and access to a second oval
- 50 metre, 10 lane outdoor competition swimming pool
- 25 metre indoor swimming pool
- Hydrotherapy pool and aquatic recovery pools
- Regional multipurpose indoor training and sporting centre, including six highball courts
- Dedicated multimedia facility for the Fremantle Dockers and the local community
- Sports store, including a Fremantle Dockers’ retail outlet
- Supporter facilities (with the exact nature and size of these facilities to be determined in the next stage of design)
Additional community facilities in the current scope of the project include:
- Running and walking tracks
- Café
- Playground and picnic areas
- Health and wellness facilities, including wellness and fitness studio, gymnasium, activity rooms, rehabilitation facilities and sports medicine facilities
- Meeting and conference rooms
- Administration offices for community organisations
- Elite training facilities for local and regionally-based elite athletes
- Local community meeting and flexible space
- Community function centre, including community meeting and program space
- Curtin University education and research facilities

Poor bastards. I reckon we should whip the hat around for them.

Would they rather the club keep subpar training facilities?

Well their argument is we could have built the same facilities at Freo Oval, even though the facts, and common sense, don't seem to support that. Plus the Freo council are apparently notoriously difficult to deal with.

Feel free, we'll just add it to the Ross Lyon fund.

A quality coach is probably more important than NASA-level facilities anyway. North should try it one day.

Agree to some extent.

However, you're 3 impending retirements away from plummeting, even if god was your coach.

Pffft, you're welcome to come over and look at our cups any time.

Lyon is not much chop with young players.

He's only interested in lists that can pull off that Sydney 2005 crap.

There was an altitude room in the proposed plans Cockburn council put up on the net. How finalised those plans were I don't know.

Christ, don't let "Rob" hear about this.

I don't know if his victim complex could stand the let down.

Gentification. A crappy suburb becomes desirable and all the poor must move out and find a home in new yet equally crappy suburb further away from everything.
Thats the short form. The long form is artists and similar bohemians find a run down down suburb where rents are cheap and start doing bohemian things. People who wish they did something creative & cool but are too busy making money move in next door so they can feel bohemian. People who make money selling cool to wanna be's start opening cafes, boutiques and bars. Rents go through roof, bohemians can no longer afford to live there, move somewhere else. New residents start complaining about the noise at night in the bars, bars close, re-open as offices .

You are pretty spot on in Parrotting BigFooty orthodoxy with regards our list and Lyon but I believe all these opinions will be shown up as being untrue in the next couple of years.
We CAN win without Sandi, Pav and McPharlin. Obviously they are champions and you can't simply replace them but we no longer rely on the individual to win.
Lyon was in premiership mode at Saint Kilda, you top up, tinker to find the extra 1% they needed to lift the cup. We have a strong development model driven by Bond and Lloyd and have been rebuilding since 2008. We have good depth coming through on all lines now. Lyon loves players like Crozier, Sheridan and Neale. Watch him play Josh Simpson this year. Talent is talent and he knows what it is.
Your 3rd point is just doggerel and essentially meaningless. People stupid enough to be so shortsighted don't rise to positions of prominence in the coaching game.
