First, a bit of background...

The movie Romper Stomper, an early Russell Crowe flick where he stars as a skinhead leader who leads his gang to bash Asians and other undesirables. It's actually a great movie but it's about thoroughly horrible people.

The movie had a soundtrack. At one point the skinheads are having a party and this song is played:

If you listen to it, you'll hear a far-right skinhead anthem with nasty, racist, violent lyrics. BUT the tune is pretty good if you're into that sort of thing.

A local Sydney band, The Owen Guns, released their own version two years ago. Same tune, different, much better, much funnier lyrics.

My favourite verse:

"You throw a hissy fit when an athlete takes a knee
Your hero's Ian Stuart, his greatest hit's a tree."

It's funny when you know that Ian Stuart was the frontman of a neo-Nazi punk band who died when his car hit a tree.

Re-reading the first page, I guess the OP was maybe looking for accidentally funny or bad lyrics, so this doesn't count either, but I liked the dark humour when I watched a video of this song performed live in a more menacing way by the 6ft 5 Steve Weber (Peter Stampfel's musical partner in the original Holy Modal Rounders).

Random Violence.

I don’t know you but I’m gonna kill you
Sorry we’re meeting this way
You are a stranger but I’m even stranger
Cos I’m gonna blow you away

[Chorus]
Random violence, that is my name
Moral decay, that’s what I blame
AIn’t got no pity, ain’t got no shame
I’m gonna blow you away

You may be famous and you may be fair
You may be righteous, I really don’t care
You may be lucky but this ain’t your day
Cos I’m gonna blow you away

You may be president, you may be pope
I am psychotic, you haven't a hope
You may be barefoot and pregnant and poor
But I’m gonna blow you away

I remember these guys. At the time, many conservatives were horrified by their show. My school had a chance to book an early REM for a show but instead went with the Tubes.
Vince Welnick replaced Brent Mydland in the Dead after he oded

Pure poetry.
Psychos usually close their shows with David Lee Roth these days.
And of course, dedicate 'Dead in a Ditch' to a certain Mr Walsh...

I'm usually "no thanks" with this kind of combo of country jazz and polka and general roots revival music but this band added some deadpan lyrics and they're good musicians. More quirky than funny. Other songs worth checking out include " A Different Bob", "Kojak Chair", "Fledgling Circus", "I Hate This World Somemtimes". They existed from the early '80's till the early 2000's when Colorblind James died.
