Anyone bagging his efficiency needed to watch the game, rather than the stats sheet.

Pressure in the game was unbelievable considering it was a R1 game. Fyfe was pretty much an inside midfielder for the most part and did a huge job in gaining metres for Freo. The amount of times he swooped on the ball and just hooked it 50m down field from a congested situation was a huge help for Freo.

Have never understood why disposal efficiency is marked harshly for players who play an inside game. Should only be used as a talking point for outside runners, because they are the players who have the time to hit up targets.

I swear more people are DT and SC fans than actual footy fans these days.

I used to think it was just an internet phenomenon, but it seems to be all people talk about in real life now too.

Amazing player for a 20yo old, wish we had grabbed him in the 2009 draft

Well done Freo, and I agree with the Hird comparisons. This kid is really special, and he also speaks quite well and generally seems to be a nice guy. Future poster boy of the AFL (although the name may hold him back a little)

If the likes of Hill and Morabito turn out to be stars, Freo are going to carve up some teams.

Potential best player in the comp, amazing talent

EFA.

For a kid so young, the sustained impact he has all over the ground and during the entire game is quite remarkable. If this is only the beginning of his career and he continues on a steep upward curve, there is no telling just how good he will be.

Craig Bird, Ben McGlynn, Nick Smith and Rhyce Shaw (if he's fit) better have rested up well this weekend as one of them has a long Saturday arvo ahead of them next week.

Of the top 50 possession winners last year only Black's DE was worse. Most of the top players (including many inside ones) are in the high 60's while Fyfe was at 61%

He is a very good player but i think it needs to improve to be a great player

Gun player, but certainly not underrated. Has a pretty big media profile in WA and all of the commentators love him (with good reason).

comes across kind of goofy and nerdy in his interviews,
but I think that just makes people like the kid even more.

I'm glad hes getting his deserving kudos in a game which most people will only talk about Ballantyne and Scarlett.

What's his charlie odds sitting at, at the moment?

You're just looking at the stats and not watching his games.

Fyfe is of the few players I see trying to always move the ball forward. He also tries kicks to break the game open which are technically very difficult to do. His risk/reward is good and he can kick the ball in ways most players can't. That's why tries harder kicks but they do pay off a lot.

This is the biggest reason he reminds me of James Hird.

I finally had the chance to watch a Freo game fully in about a year and a bit and Fyfe gave me the same feelings that I had when I used to watch Juddy when he started out.

Fyfe probably could have had another 10 disposals if players gave it to him more as he was honestly everywhere. Does the freakish even though his disposal isn't always the best.

Will best close to the best player in the comp in a few years time, might even pip Naitanui.

I love and hate him. I love him because he is fantastic to watch and there are no weaknesses to his game - he wins the contested and uncontested ball, he plucks marks from everywhere, and he kicks goals. I hate him because he plays for Freo.

He is an absolute star and will become a Freo club legend. Bank on it.

Might be blasphemous, but I really do think he could be James Hird-lite

Just someone who can play anywhere and be effective.

He is a big game player as well.
