A game that was exciting but the poor skills and turnovers had it well below last week's channel 10 game of carlton V eagles. But Cometti and then Harley and McVaney had to try one up channel 10 and immediately claim it. Absolute self serving idiots. Also can Malthouse get off his crying ego trip. get over yourself

I loved the way they said for 3 qtrs that Swan, Pendles and Daisy had no influence on the game and then did a complete 360 in the final qtr. Just think we have to put up with these clowns for the next 5 years!!

Who gives a **** about the turnovers and poor skills, it was all caused by amazing intensity. The WC v Carlton game had probably A quarter and a half of the intensity that this game had for every single minute of it.

This game contained some very amateurish efforts bordering on embarrasing. examples - Thomas's effort to run 3 metres under an uncontested ball. Shoenmakers continual skill errors. field kicking of both teams was poor with no pressure on alot of them

I thought it was a low standard of game. If the Hawks didn't make the dumb mistakes that they did it would have been a comfortable win and would not be nearly as memorable.

No way that was the game of the year. It was absolutely disgraceful. What were they doing? If Collingwood play like that next week, I will be one happy man. turnovers after turnovers. They say that it was a good game and that the turnovers was caused by pressure. Well if 16 beat 17 by one point with a kick after the siren, does that make it a good game? Not to mention that the skills are aweful? No. A game cannot be good if the umpires ruin it. Hawthorn should have won. Period. Home crowd umpiring decisions (Seriously, there were only patches of Brown and Gold compared to Collingwood).

Poor skills and turnovers? its called prelimiary finals mate thats why it was better than WCE v Carlton u clearly have no idea about football / finals football. "get off his crying ego trip" That makes absolutly NO SENSE, and how da **** does he need to get over himself his crying with happiness at coaching for another week? ur a **** wit mate

When will people realise it's Collingwood's pressure that causes the other team's skills to look poor?
Did their own pressure get to them? Collingwood's skills were aweful. So were Hawthorns. Game was scrappy. Wanted to turn it off in the first quarter. Then came the unforgivable holding the ball decision against Puopolo that handed Collingwood the momentum and hence the win. Shoenmakers... How did he end up playing in a prelim? Bateman?

Agree with your comment that the tightness of the scores made it a memorable game.
However the intensity and pressure for 4 quarters was great. I enjoyed the game even though I would probably prefer an interstate club to win the GF than either of these two.
Having said that:
Jordan Lewis... class and hard at it
Dane Swan....if I was drafting a midfielder would I take him over Judd? After tonight, probably. His efforts in Q3 and Q4 got them over the line.
Hawthorn not taking opportunities... Definitely cost them the game as they could have extended their lead a number of times.

This thread is made by somone who said "Bailey's record was on a upward curve. Thought he was highly intelligent. To me Neeld will reap the benefits of his hard work. Knee jerk reaction to get rid of him".

Enough said?

There is no way that was the game of the year. The most frustrating game. Carlton Vs West Coast was 10x better. Liked the Geelong Vs Hawthorn prelims. Skills were poor. The scoreline was the only reason why I continued to watch the game.

Tonight's game was absolutely superb - there's a reason skills were down - twas the awesome intensity for the whole game

For those wanting the nice flowing skilled games - you probably prefer one day cricket on featherbed wickets where each team makes 350.

Tonight's game had me enthralled - excluding my own team - that was comfortably the most enjoyable game all year to watch for mine.

Oh blubbering blaze. the upward curve is right. His win loss ratio improved every year. not game of the year. even u could tell that collingwood have played better and I suspect they will next week. Hawthorn's goal kicking by itself lowered the standards of the game. It was more a case of Hawthorn blowing it than 2 teams slugging it out

but but but it was 1 umpiring decision, read all the other threads about it, 1.5 from set shots part way through the 3rd quarter had nothing to do with it, all umpires fault

No team in the AFL would have held up well skill wise under the pressure of either team in this game.

That must mean every team in the AFL has shit skills. I guess we shouldn't watch. Or maybe we should get teams to play soft footy and take the toughness out of it.

Poor skills? When you consider the enourmous amount of pressure applied, what do you expect. That game was brilliant, players gave it everything, look at some of the despearate acts performed. Stirring stuff. A credit to both teams.
