Inverleighs only weakness is self doubt from its recent past record in final series games.
The best five teams over the course of the season have qualified for the finals, even though Werribee and Winchelsea had their moments in the sun during the H&A season.
Winchelsea and Werribee are both building in the correct fashion and will QUALIFY next year without doubt if they retain their coaches.
Prediction 1. The winner of the elimination final will make the preliminary final at the very least
Prediction 2. If BPH fail to make the GF , watch for a big intake/return of past players and high quality recruits to win one final premiership in 2019 as a legacy to finish the decade

On last Sunday's game NO. Inverleigh to win easily against BPH.

Inverleigh would have one hand on the cup if they go straight through. Making other sides playing 4 games and already a little banged up. Bph would make a huge statement if they got up, been waiting for this time of year but will be a big ask.

I think Thomson will win comfortably, especially if mathieson is good to go. Geelong west have done well to get this far and will make thier club more enticing to join.

BREAKING: @GeelongWGiants star Chris Moreland has departed the club to become coach of @WesternRegionFL club Wyndhamvale @KrockFootball @AFLBarwon

Well he wont be going back to BPH, I hear they will lose a few......

That's great for the other 11 clubs. We hear every year that players are leaving and retiring I will wait and see before listening to rumours.

I can see the grand final being a big blow out. Thomson and bph are not playing great footy and inverleigh will win easy.

Flicked the pulse on today and the commentators are saying that Costello from bph is going to Belmont next year. I would guess it's a strong rumour or they wouldn't say it on the radio.

I wonder wether this is Maccas way of saying i won’t be there next year so i am prepared to drop my skipper to win at all costs and bugger the Concequences.

I second that. Inverleigh are the Collingwood of the gdfl know one likes them at all. It was great to see all the inverleigh supporters hearts break yesterday. EAD

I think it’s because the way they go about it. Very arrogant, mouthing off from players, bench and supporters. Not classy losers or winners.
They won’t get a better shot than yesterday.
Who would go? A lot are loyal players who don’t like the coach much. Maybe his mercenaries would go? I get the feeling Seddon likes being a big fish.
None of their recruits failed a shot yesterday at all

That is certainly a strong whisper going around. Bench coach on match days for Sam Darley.
Will he lure any Inverleigh players with him to have a crack at GFL Footy?
I honestly dont think there would be many that would make the standard required to play good quality and consistent GFL footy.
Think of the recent players from the league that have tried and found the going too tough. Joel Bennett and Charlie Farrell the best of these and Lachie Wright going ok at Grovey.
Witney and Beau McNamara struggled and Witney one of the better GDFL players.
Seddon might go ok along with Blake Hutchison, Dalton Grundell would not get a game at a quality GFL club. Maybe at North Shore but they struggle on field.
They should maybe try BFL first, and even then they would struggle to break into a quality side. (Seddon and Hutch) would have no dramas

Rate Grundell and Best at least equal to Hutchy. If not better. I think you’ll find Witney was regarded as a gun at Grovedale and Beau never played reserves and rated as above average GFL defender.

Think you're off the mark with Witney struggling at GFL level, he was often listed in their best players in 2016 and early 2017 until he injured his shoulder in round 4 or 5 McNamarra played almost every game in the 2 years he was there and was more than serviceable! It's usually the mids that are always in the best but he had his fair share, Grovey even swung him forward on occasions when they couldn't score, so I think you're a bit harsh, or never watched them play.

I don’t think you watched any Grovey matches. Whitney was a very handy player as was McNamara.

Yes handy, but not great.
And watched them quite a lot. Beau Mac was ok at times but hardly set the world on fire. As l said Witney dominates the GDFL but struggled at times in the GFL. Hardly commanded a midfield position

HA! that was the best grandfinal result since Belmont beat East in 2007. Well done Thomson, love the way Brent Taylor speaks to fire up the troops.
Inverleigh and BPH losing players, could be a much more even comp in 2019 with all clubs already recruiting to improve.

You would think Thomson will lose the extra points they got at the start of this year dropping from 42 pts to 40 pts in 2019
