No J.Mcleod, Paisley, Mahoney, Fitzsimmons?
I'd have Woods on a wing before Moreland.

In regard to the Lewis item I think it is unfair that they bring the rule in and then look at your history as there would have to be a heap of older blokes that might be in trouble (me included if I wanted to play again).

You should have got a clean sheet or at a minimum it should have only taken into account the past 3 years like the points system did in the AFL when it came in. QUOTE-

I agree entirely with what your saying but I believe they did bring this in. Lewis got 10 weeks this year and suspensions last year were more than 6. He actually is over 16 since the rule has come in. So theres no sympathy there, but the rule is a disgrace, especially considering local league tribunals are horrificly run.

In regards to Aaron James, he also has accumulated more than 16 weeks since the rule came in, last year (maybe the year before) he received a 4 year ban which was reduced on appeal to 16 weeks for (don't quote me, but i think abusing/threatening an umpire). So both knew the rules before they committed these acts.
He kicked 19 goals the other week!!! A week is a long time in football hey..

Absolute rubbish the 16 game rule. All it takes is a few stupid mistakes and they deregister you.

The leagues need to grow some balls and tell them to jump.

1. Don't make stupid mistakes

2. Your either affiliated with a league governing body or your not. If you are you play by the rules. If not you are prepared to everything alone, insurance, run umpires etc.

Mate its a big call to say theyre the strongest defence in the GDFL when teams havent played each other once. Wait another 4 weeks when the Hill have played Belmont, Thomson, East Geelong and Inverleigh, see what the stats say and then make the statement.

In regards to de-registering of players I think it would be interesting to see who is also in danger of falling into this category. Should the VCFL inform each team or league of who is in danger so clubs can talk to those players? Will it have an effect on recruiting next pre season onwards? Clubs wouldnt want to pay a sign on fee for a gun player to find out a week or two into the season a suspension means he's gone for the year and theyve done their $ and their season.

Just read the rule, its on the GDFL website. 10 weeks and your supposed to be written to, to be warned. That could be an interesting number.

But your right Dukes there would need to be some process so a recruiting club can get a history of the player from previous leagues. How will the privacy nazis react to that request.

A couple of interesting games this week, with one or two with the potential in changing the landscape of the top 5.

Nth Geel V Inverleigh. Intriguing clash, Inverleigh coming off their first loss since round 1 and Nth fairly competitive last week in trying conditions. On form Inverleigh should really win but this could get very interesting. Nth prob dont have the midfield to shut Inv's runners down. I'll say the Hawks by 4 goals away from home.

Werribee V East. The Eagles have been up and down this year. Some very good and very poor performances. Should get two in a row after this week. Werribee have been very competitive all year. Tight losses to Belmont and Bannock and a couple of solid wins, young kids with some spark. I see this as similar to the game above. Centrals will find it hard to match the powerful East forwardline. East away by 3-4 goals.

Belmont V BPH. The reigning premiers have been poor to say the least. Only wins against West, Winch and won by a kick against Nth. They are no chance against the rampaging Panthers. Them along with Thomson and Banno are the form team.

Banno V Corio. Match of the year so far. Corio with a few names back in. Banno going along nicely. Very similar team to last year capable of winning the flag. Although only the one or two standouts compared to Corio's half a dozen I still think Banno are more even and will be too quick for the Devils. Banno at home by 5 goals.

Winch V West. Well done West, I thought your chance had gone after seemingly losing the plot against Thomson. Found some character and great response. Dont have the firepower to thump Winch like all others before them but will be way to quick. 10 goals.

Thomson V Anakie. Anakie are officially in a heap. Won 3 of the 1st 4 matches including a win against East. In between that was a thumping at the hands of the Hill. Since then 3 losses in a row. 2 by well over 10 goals and a loss to the previously winless West. Ouch for them and it gets no easier this week. Thomson are looking strong, been lucky with injuries and are purring along only losing to Inva by a kick after kicking 6.15. Ugly, ugly, ugly. Thomson to leave Anakie frustrated and found wanting. Thumped by 10 goals plus.

*Note: Addy can cut and paste this if they wish.;)

Agree with all of the above, although i hear kolleger , bliss are out injured and lewis has to work, if this is the case would sway towards corio.A game worth seeing ....

Aaron James (ex Richmond, Carlton and Bulldogs) is in the same boat as Lewis. He got suspended a couple of years ago and had accumulated 16 weeks in total has been reported for minor item and I think he got a week meaning he is now likely to be deregistered. Stabhope would be spewing as he has kicked 60 odd goals in 6 games

Actually Aaaron isn't in the same boat... as it's only VCFL suspensions. The Sunbury Kangaroos in the Riddell league are considered metro, as the RDFL is not a VCFL affiliate.

And I wouldn;t call allegedly belting a spectator minor... yes the other charge was, but not the report he got as he was leaving the ground

What a joke Corio playing u/14 kids,,this must give confidence in the reserves,u/18s/ and u/16 players. i noticed dylan o`toole, good on ya ricky on springboarding your brothers career but by doing this i feel you have just S**t on the up and coming older players.

Is it any different to Ricky making his debuts at young ages at both Corio and St.Joey's?

Remember how strong St.Joey's was as a club in the mid 1990's with plenty of talented juniors... Ricky rocks up from Corio and walks straight into the Joey's ones. He was still eligible for what was then under 15's.

Actually, he is in the same boat. Both the VCFL and metro leagues come under AFL Victoria's deregistration policy, which came in in 2006.
The automatic deregistration also includes AFL career suspensions.

and did he not kick 9 goals in his first or second match in the seniors?

Fair call but why are ppl been negative bout playing kids we at North are puttting all our kids in for a taste, rumour has it no reserve guys want to play ones and the 18s which we played last week donty have any depth and 16s dont have much coming thru???

It has nothing to do with reserve guys not wanting to play ones if you have a look we have already played over 35 different players in the ones this year, it was about giving a couple of kids a run when we had the oppurtunity. We have also played 2 under 18s and 2 under 16s in the ones this year. There is great depth at the club in the junior levels.

Now you tell me am I not right????????;)

Jed Potter would definately be in there he is in the top 5 of the league easily and probably another 4 or 5 players from the devils

I'm looking forward to the Inverleigh v Nth Geelong game.
A good source from the Hawks nest told me Josh Crerar was pretty unhappy bout being left out of the Vic Country squad and is organising a big bag of goals tomorrow.
Good on ya Josh. Show em what you're made of champ!

Top 5 in the league? WOW. That's a massive call and one that probably wont get much support from unbiased posters, because, well just because it's plain not true. Theres 5 ahead of him in your current league team.

Also, the team that was done by the guru already had about 5 Devils in it. So add to that another 5 is half the GDFL team being Corio! And the Devs have a 5-2 record in the league.

Surely we would want a better performed interleague team than that. Granted you need time to gel, but you and so many of you Corio supporters over-rate your own.

your aload your opion we will see come league b&f night he will be right up there, true corio are 5-2 but no disrespect to inverlie and thomson there both great sides but there was 7 to 8 out in both those games and theres still 6 out of tomorrows game.

Great! Make poor excuses going into games, just in case you fall on your face.

Seriously, get over your "not at full strength" excuses, I doubt Corio will, or any other team be at full strength at any stage this year, even through finals, its a fact! If people dont understand this I am a truly lost and confused individual.

I agree entirely FACE there is very rarely a time you get the whole mob on the track at the same time. Take for example this year;
  • East, v Inverleigh; East were missing 4 from the best 22 and Inverleigh had at least a couple of their best 22 out.
  • East v Bannk; Bannock missing 3 (could have been more) East missing the same
  • East v North again a couple missing from both sides
You could go through every game for every team and mount the same argument.

Having a look at Corio's side in the paper I am sure they are missing a few but the prime movers are there (O'Tooole x 3, Manning, Stewart, Potter et al) so the reality is there are no excuses as I also know Bannock are missing a couple so get over it.

hey boys there is definately no excuses if we dont win today i know as much as anyone the side you put out at 2pm is the best side you have and if you have enough belief in your list which we do, we will beat anyone on our day as im sure every other club whos a top 5 chance this year thinks the same, trust me there will be no excuses if we dont win today it will only be that bannock were to good on the day.
But as said earlier no-one will have there best all year there will be injuries to every club every game even finals.

just a few words bannockburn well done today very good sides from under 18s threw to seniors give our boys abit of a lesson today well done bannockburn full credit to you i think you might be the yard stick.
