Devils have you already written off the year for the boys from Shell Reserve or is it a typo.

My summation based on last years ladder positions.

East & BPH at the pointy end again. Top 3

Thom and Bannoc should finish thereabouts however I understand both have experienced a turnover in personnel the full effect of which wont be known until Feb. 4 - 6

Werribee snuck into the 5 last year and have been recruiting hard so should maintain or improve there position. 4 - 6

For Inver I think it is a critical year. Just missed out on finals in 2009 after improving on a competitive showing in 2008 they must break through in 2010 to be taken seriously. Have been actively recruiting but the proof will be in the pudding. 4 - 6

Belmont will head way south if all reports are true. Bottom 3

Corio sounds like they are having an exodus of stalwarts that kept the in the upper half of the ladder for the past 10 years. A slide down to be expected but others to slide further so will remain mid table.

North were great in the early rounds of 2009 but fell away dramatically therefore unless the have recruited or developed some maturity I would see the same happening. For them to play finals a couple of the regulars will need to tumble out. Mid table but pushing the 5

Winch competitive and will suprise a few Mid table but pushing the 5

Anakie and Geelong West the status quo will continue bottom 3

not a bad five i think centrals will be a top 3 sides with there quality pick ups, and a few of there youth should be just about ready 2 take the next step, is a very big year for inver would like to see them get in. dont think winch will be to far way either maybe not this year but not far away

1 word summary on each.. Rhett = Flair, Bogan = tenacity, Bagga = Class
If you pick up all 3 you'll be very pleased with yourself. Very talented group.:thumbsu:

Rhett = when going can play, but pretty lazy
Bogan = 2's player, hangout player
Bagga = Gun, get him in the right frame of mind can rip games apart

just want to gather some info on Rhett Smith, Ash Bogan and Brad Edwards. how do they go, height, position, courage etc. hope someone can help out

Where are these 3 heading too ? They can all play footy thats forsure.

Bogan is a very handy around the forward line ! pretty much won the grand final for them a few years back & he is most definatly a senior footballer. Rhett has really matured as a senior footballer over the last 3 years and seems to just be in control all the time. Bagga's resume speaks for itself really, has ticks in every box's as far as im concerned.
Good pick ups if belmont will release them.

centrals have picked up 3 quality players but will lose 5 quality including kitchen.

I too expect Centrals to finish top 3, at the expense of Thomson. I hear another 2 from Hoppers Crossing are on board.

So much for Leachy developing their very good youth.

2 from hoppers?? who?? Plenty of young talent at the club all of who if good enough will get a game....

Kitchen definately staying.I heard he will see out two more years or so of footy.one this year at centrals and then back to Winch.though nobody can argue with the bloke he has played at centrals with the passion of someone who has played their careers there and will head back to a club he loves and is closer to his family.Good luck to the fella. As for centrals its not about the kids getting a game if they are good enough its about the fact that the kids will be good enough if developed as senior players. This league doesnt allow that at reserve level because its shit footy which will teach kids shit habits. So I'd say give the young blokes the nod over these older blokes and twos rejects from other clubs and develop your own backyard.Just an opinion as always not an attack.Looking forward to watching a good season of gdfl footy

Not sure there are any ''older blokes" who shouldn't be getting a game ánd there are defnately not any 2's rejects from other clubs. Name me a club that doesn't play their very best team?? unless an older bloke chooses to play 2's you pick your best side week in week out. The young blokes will get their opportunities if they put in the hard yards....

completely agree, you play your best side, especially if you want to finish top three, i think they have only lost three ones players in Molivas, Just Johns and reshkie. Reshkie would struggle to get a game this year as they have picked up Lovell but they will miss Johns and Molivas to pretty good outside players.

Can anyone help me out with a player called paul messer. dont know much about him, where did he play 09, what posi, height, weight etc. any info would be greatly appreciated.

There was a P Messer who played for blue west in gdfl last year good midfielder with a great kick very fast.Good player in a side that struggelled last year wheres he playing this year?

dont know really where he is playing but just heard he was on the move up country, possibly to an opposition side of ours. just trying to work out if was as good as i have heard. heard he was a very strong, bullocking type.

Signs are not good down at the Lions this year, lets hope they pick up a few from Uni.

The Winchelsea boys are quiet this year, Whats news from the Blues? Recruits? Lost anyone?

been too busy training to get on big footy.
Picked up a few, lost a couple!

So i hear Belmont has been averaging 6 players to pre season training can anyone confirm this ?

How will they ever survive this year !

My team is playing a practice match against the TIGERS. How do they fair in the leauge, top side, bottom side?

Well considering there are the Thomson Tigers and the Bannockburn Tigers we need to know which Tiger you are talking about. But in saying that both a good sides.
