"They did finish second, they are entitled to get some advantage, so it's a possibility," Demetriou told ABC radio.

They DO get an advantage you greasy dickhead. They don't have to travel. How much help do the Handbags need?

But it hasn't been that way for a good twenty years now, Essendon, Carlton and Collingwood have not played there in ages. Hawthorn been a while too. Same reason that Essendon never play Hawthorn in Tassie. That Swans do not get to play Collingwood at the SCG. When Geelong were more middle of the road they played in Canberra, etc. Factoring in potential attendances based on the club(s) playing is hardly a new thing.

The little man syndrome is getting tiresome. Geelong aren't exactly top banana in the league, over the years we've had games in Tassie, Canberra and even home games against West Coast at Waverly FFS. Wasn't ideal but we just sucked it up and got on with it.

Did you also know that once upon a time women and black people were refused basic rights, and homosexuality was a crime? Both facts have about as much relevance as your opening statement does to what I was actually discussing in my post.

I honestly couldn't care less as to where we play Geelong, as at the end of the day regardless of which ground it's played at, the rules are the same, and we aren't any more or less likely to win.

I guess I don't pay enough attention to this kind of stuff because I was shocked that Geelong had not been playing at Simonds stadium all along. Every team that hosts a final should be able to play at their home ground - that is the whole point of fighting for home ground advantage. It should only be moved from Simonds if Geelong request it.

Given this, I expect Hawthorn to get an MCG final even if we finish second...
I don't think that's even in doubt, tbh. If it happens that we finish top and you 2nd I would expect that us vs. Swans will be at the Dome and you vs. Freo at the 'G.
Wouldn't have a problem with that; I can understand Freo's grievances at being told they're the only team that would have to play at Kardinia, but I also think it's totally fair that if we finish 2nd we get to play at our home ground.

Play it at Etihad.

Geelong has the best overall winning percentage there.

Geelong has kicked the highest score there.

Geelong has the largest winning margin there.

Geelong has played in the highest attended AFL game there.

Since 2007 Geelong has played there 32 times and won 26 for an 81% winning record.

Geelong has played a Ross Lyon coached side 3 times at Etihad for 2 wins and a loss.
Ross Lyons Freemantle have never lost at etihad. We have during that time.

I dunno if the AFL can help with this but i sure could use a hand carrying my handbag down the road to KP. Maybe you wouldn't mind holding it for awhile?

Why? I cancel it and use the credit for something else.

But that's a risk I was prepared to take. You probably have no idea, but as soon as it's confirmed that Freo are playing interstate, airlines bump up their fares by 300%. Sometimes you have to take the risk.
If you intended to cancel it then what were you complaining about in the first point.
