Pies impressive except for their finishing. Addition of Tom Mitchell and Daicos going to a whole other level this year sees them looking an even better side than 2022. That kid might win the Brownlow this year, he’s extraordinary.

From what I’ve seen so far, they have been the most impressive side. Massive credit to McRae.
Their pressure on the ball carrier and set up behind the ball is exceptional.

Would be should be trying to replicate. It’s what enables their slingshot game that way are trying to play.

I turned the Footy off, went and played the PS5 for an hour turn the Footy back on, and when I press the “play from live”, the score didn’t change…. Odd.

I think I now understand why Collingwood traded Tom Phillips to us in order to give Josh Daicos a spot on the wing... He is an absolute gun!

Wow Scott Pendlebury 👏 😍

No mention of Fagan here.

I think the players are bored Sh*Less with his outdated style of coaching.

To have this list playing the style of football is embarrassing.

He just isn't a senior coach.

He has so many young hard nosed kids in that team that we would kill for.
He got them from 5 wins a season to finals contention almost over night.

Wow Scott Pendlebury 👏 😍
Pretty amazing to see Pendles and Sidebottom still playing excellent footy well into their 30s yet so many of our own veterans seemed to drop off a cliff once they hit 30 (or even younger).

It’s a testament to those two players professionalism to get their body’s in the condition to keep contributing week in week out.

Threepeats take a lot of juice out.

Anyone else see the pregame footage of Tom playing at Hawthorn and then playing for Collingwood that Lewis put up.
The examples of Tom calling for the ball and getting it in bad spots from players in better positions. Two clear examples where he got the ball and then had nowhere to go, whereas with Collingwood his role is to get and give to better players.

It was a good footage.

Begs the question is did we try to get Mitchell to do a similar role at the Hawks and he refused or did we never think to use Mitchell as a pure distributor (seems unlikely given how good he is at this role).

Gotta say though that he just fits the Collingwood midfield so well, it’s about a perfect fit for Tom to utilise his attributes as you could think.

Collingwood exposed Richmond for what they are now. The 2017–22 Hawthorn Football Club. A team that has brought in two quality midfielders but won't make any profound impact due to the demographics of the surrounding players. They either have kids who haven't developed into the players they thought they would be or stars of the past who are like a gearbox that only has 1,000 kilometres left.

Mitchell back to his best playing in a good side. He's probably been in the votes every game so far.
Had 30 touches, 5 clearances and 5 tackles tonight.

No hospital handballs or stat padding, just hard at it in the packs.

Played three very good games in a row, he’s absolutely loving it at the Pies.
