And who is to say that the talent in the 80s could have cut it at the AFL level given today's standards and training demands. It's such a stupid argument whenever anyone brings this up about any sport. These were squads made up of likely a decent amount of smokers and blokes who would get on the turps every weekend - a lot of them probably wouldn't have coped with the demands put on players now. It's beyond the realms of feasibility so why bother trying to compare a sporting team from 40 years ago to one now.
