There has been a very clear suppression order put on anyone naming or speculating on players involved.

This is a site wide rule that must be followed.

Aaron Naughton is getting paid ~$900K per year every year for 8 years for that level of performance. He is a one trick pony and backmen have figured out his trick. With JUH and Naughton locked in, the Dog's depth will be an issue.

Ed Richards is a gun who is likely not being paid what he is worth due to the above two money grabbers. He comes out of contact at the end of this year and is a restricted free agent. I hope we are in his ear.

another lefty around the ball would provide a good mix.

Underrated player is the red head.

On one hand, I do find it ironic that the Dogs of all teams received the biggest reaming from the umpires I've seen in a while. On the other hand, games shouldn't be decided like that. The Dale deliberate and Bramble taking of the legs non-decision were unacceptably bad.
.
Wow. There is reasonable and then there is this

Eh, we demolished them last year, not scared at all. Bevo still has no game plan and the bottom 6-10 in their team are bad.
Your point about the bottom 6 to 10 in the 23 for the Dogs is the key for the likely success of the Hawks. I'd go further and say it is the bottom 20 to 30.

Scrim is an above average AFL player with great disposal and Frosty was one of our best defenders last season. But when those two were replaced by Gunston and CJ, with the team structure that we had, I felt our team got stronger. And so it proved to be the case with CJ playing very well and Gunna being awesome as the sub.

Compare that to what the dogs

Agreed. Richards is almost certainly not being paid in the top 25% from their salary cap but has become a needle mover for the Dogs. Ed is a money-ball player if ever I have seen one.

The difference between the Dogs and the Hawks is that the Hawks take a team approach to the salary cap. During the 3-peat, players took unders to be a part of becoming a great team (Buddy excluded) that could, and did, win premierships (haha Buddy).

And Carlton are right-royally rooted. Their salary cap is busting (they had to let their best small fwd go to bring in low cost Francis) and their skills are lacking along with their depth. Carlton, partially due to Tassie coming in, are a non-event for the next 10 years. Yes I had a chuckle after their loss to the tigers and felt good once our boy's skills and fitness shone.

The Hawks have consistently brought in good players and seemingly good people. I know nothing about Ed Richard's as a person, but he speaks well.

I hope the hawks are in his ear!

Long has been good for the Pies lately.

Glad he's starting to find his feet. Bit of a whipping boy on the Collingwood board but they are warming to him.

Slow as a treacle but big and strong.

The free kick crap is still a thing, would love to say that the more us supporters ignore it, the sooner it goes away, but unfortunately you have certain groups that will sprout it as fact every opportunity they get. We are like every other team, we win some, we lose some. However the feeble minded will always be led by what they are being told.

Get Kane is very polarising and he very obviously over sensationalises his commentary to get hits on socials (which is how he worked his way up the industry to be fair to him). But, he easily works the hardest out of any of the journos / pundits, obviously watches almost every sec of every game and comes up with original content not fed from a producer.

He also actually takes opinions (which I think are mostly correct but over exaggerated), which is far more interesting than most bone head ex players who play political and sit on the fence to preserve their reputation in fear of respite.

I can definitely understand why people don’t like him, because I didn’t 3-4 years ago, but he’s my favourite now.
I actually agree that Kane is excellent at what he does. But I want analysts who give me an insight into the game that comes from having played /coached and developed a deep understanding of the tactics anf strategies of the game that I clukd never achieve as an outsider. Kane doesn't give me that.

I can see why you like him though.

Absolutely nothing I saw last week or this week worries me about Collingwood. We have the blueprint to get them on the outside
Half of their team run hard one way .
Will get found out by the very good sides.

Last night wasn't convincing against an undermanned side .

Every year is another example of massive length contracts being a terrible idea.

Clubs need to be saved from themselves. Bring in a 4 year limit on contracts, 5 years if you're a free agent who re-signs at the same club. Locking someone in for 7, 8 or 9 years provides no incentive to keep improving.

Are we actually into all of these trade targets or do we miraculously get lucky by missing out.
McKay, Perryman, Bruhn - I’d spew if we swapped any current squad member for them
Bruhn was our biggest sliding door moment. Trade for him we don’t get Weddle. Both for how good Weddle is and with what’s transpired with the other one. Also for every one that wishes we had Anderson father son, give me Will day over him every day of the week

Stuff other clubs.
Contract limits should be written into the HFC constitution.

There's nothing different about them from last year, same style same players, they will only beat us if they can find a way to neutralise Hokball. In a shootout we will touch them up. By the time we play them we should have everyone bar Lewis available too.

I don't care about the feeble minded. They won't change the result and I will lap up the salt and tears all year long

umpires are so consistently inconsistent. and playing favourites (players/teams) on top of that. it's a joke.
The funny thing is bulldogs supporters were telling us they deserved every free kick when they were on the receiving end and now they are crying about it.

Umpires are part of the game u rise above them to win. I will always believe that winning or losing doesn't depend on them but the 18 on field and the 4 on the bench and coaches in the coaching box

I don't usually comment on the umpiring... but...
I did turn the TV off last night.... they should have a match fixing investigation. Pitiful.

The media even have articles on it. So, it must have been pretty bad.
