'$1 million reward announced for information about the cold case murder of Prabha Arun Kumar'

'Mon 28 Oct

A coronial inquest into Ms Kumar's death is due to begin in March next year.'

'At the time of the attack, then Homicide Squad commander Mick Willing said Ms Kumar was on the phone to her husband in India, who said he "heard her scream for help".

"And then plead with the man not to harm [her] and take all her belongings if he wanted," Mr Willing said at the time.

Ms Kumar was an IT worker and it is believed she was planning to return to India in the weeks following her death, with her family saying she was struggling being away from them.'

...
Initially, police said the attack "may have been random".

Speaking at the Prabha Memorial Walk in Parramatta Park on Monday, Detective Superintendent Danny Doherty said it is now believed the murder was "a targeted attack".

Superintendent Doherty added robbery or sexual assault can be ruled out as a motive.

...
Ms Kumar's husband has previously denied allegations he was involved in his wife's death.
...
At the time of her murder, Ms Kumar's husband was documented as having another girlfriend and police on Monday said he remains a person of interest — but he is not the only person being investigated.

"We're not excluding other people as persons of interest and obviously there's someone out there who committed the murder … who actually stabbed Prabha to death," Superintendent Doherty said.

He also confirmed the $1 million reward is not limited to those in Australia, and the appeal is an international request for information, as the majority of Ms Kumar's family live in India.
...
"She was walking while talking to Arun [her husband] on the phone when she said that a suspicious-looking man was following her," he said.
...
In July 2015, four months after the murder, police released new security footage showing a figure walking through Parramatta Golf Course towards Jubilee Lane where Ms Kumar was attacked.

The figure appeared only briefly in the top right hand corner of the frame around the time of the murder, in what police admitted was "not the best footage", but were hopeful it may prompt someone's memory.

A coronial inquest into Ms Kumar's death will begin in March next year, but police are hopeful the new reward will allow them to put someone before the courts for her murder before that time.

Anyone with information is urged to contact CrimeStoppers.'

I wonder how many of them were law students?

'“Last Monday, a group of male students from second year at St Paul’s decided to hold a mock trial on a fellow student. The group that organised it invited people to attend,” he said.

“It was held in a meeting room on the ground floor. In the Kangaroo Court, there were students posing as judges, defence lawyers and prosecutors.”'

I wonder how many of them are on Big Footy?

I wonder what the "defendant" was accused of.

I found some women talking on social media, claiming they had close calls.
First Ive heard of it. Are they genuine claims or just trying to impose themselves into the case?

Reading about that condition reminds me of the tragic shooting deaths of the police officers by the Train family maniacs.

I'm assuming that condition is applicable to them.

The 15yo was hitchiking and he broke the handle on the door of the car, the driver lost his temper and slashed at him with a knife. The 15yo was cut on his arm, crawled in to the bush and died.

The driver just drove off and left him.

How utterly tragic.

Yes, but I wondered if there was a bit more to it. It seems like an OTT response to produce (conveniently) a knife and actually stab the kid.

And the hits just keep on coming...

Senior NAAJA employee arrested, resigns after allegedly helping killer fugitive evade NT police

A senior employee with the nation's largest Aboriginal legal service has resigned after she was arrested in a hotel room allegedly alongside a fugitive who police say she helped evade capture.

Samantha Alampi, 36, who managed offenders' parole for the embattled North Australian Aboriginal Justice Agency (NAAJA), was allegedly caught at the Mercure Hotel in Alice Springs with 20-year-old Jefferson Woodie on Sunday morning.

Missing Person Response - Gaps uncovered
PART ONE OF A FOUR-PART SERIES

MISSING PERSONS FIRST RESPONSE

INTRODUCTION:
Criticisms, no more criticisms – 'with over fifty years in policing and investigations, the last ten years almost solely concentrating on missing persons, I have identified gaps in most cases. However, I am generally not overly critical, why? Because I understand reality and the limitations and pressures in which police work'. But, I also recognize the need for change.

In this article and the following three (3), which will be released over coming weeks I will briefly introduce for discussion, the topics of First Response, Investigative Response, Victimology, and Management Responsibility, regarding the response gaps in missing person cases. Please take the time to click on the attached link (image below) to read the full article (6 minute read). Best regards Valentine Smith

I didn't know where to post this one, but as it is likely to result in criminal proceeding it ended up here. Meet Sita Tara, Sovereign Midwife. Freebirths. Grifters. The idiocy of the 21C keeps growing.

'Seven baby deaths were linked to freebirths between 2022 and early 2024, in a small pocket of south-east Queensland and northern New South Wales. It can now be revealed that Sita Tara had been employed as the birthkeeper for three of those babies. All three deaths are before the NSW coroner.'

It will be interesting to see what happens to Sita Tara. I hope the adverse publicity stops women using her dubious 'services'.

No surprise there is a cluster of these deaths in that region infested with walled compounds full of happy handclapping, antivax, sovereign citizens. Late last century, as the WWW got going, there was a strong believe the internet was going to improve society and make folks better, smarter. Instead the opposite appears to have happened.

Please don't get the idea I am against homebirth. Homebirths can be done with great safely but you must ensure the mother has a low risk pregnancy. Blind Freddy can tell you the two previous ceasars this unfortunate mum had meant she had a very high risk pregnancy.
