As was obvious, the 13 year-old has form and was on bail for another serious assault.

So why was he out and about unsupervised?
I don’t know but check out this media update from QLD Pol:

Police are appealing for information in relation to the actions of the alleged offender prior to the wounding incident in Yamanto on Monday afternoon, January 13.

It is understood the 13-year-old boy charged with attempted murder may have been walking along the Cunningham Highway between Ripley and the Yamanto exit prior to the incident between 1pm and 2:30pm on this date.

To assist investigations, detectives would like to speak to anyone who may have observed him, has dashcam footage or had any interaction with the boy.

Earlier: Detectives have charged a teenager following a wounding incident at Yamanto late yesterday afternoon, January 13.

Around 5.22pm, a 13-year-old boy allegedly approached a staff member at a supermarket near Warwick Road and stabbed her with a knife.

It will be further alleged the boy fled the scene before he was detained by members of the public nearby a short time later.

First aid was rendered to the woman by attending police crews before she was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital, where it understood she remains in a critical condition.

A 13-year-old boy was taken into custody and has been charged with attempt to murder.

He is due to appear before Ipswich Childrens Court today, January 14.

He can be trialled as an Adult for serious assault , surely they would add that to his charges.

Attempted murder is a stupid charge.
You can commit exactly the same crime , and randomly be punished differently depending on the random chance of your victim surviving or not.
He was out on bail when committing the alleged offence. Coles has now paused all knife sales in their stores. This suggests to me that he took a knife from the store before the alleged attempted murder.

He previously had burnt a youth worker with hot milk, and she described him as “cold” and “calculating.”

Typical QLD legal system. Caring more about the rights of perpetrators than their risks to community safety.

Detectives from the Maroochydore Child Protection and Investigation Unit (CPIU) are appealing for public assistance in relation to an alleged incident on November 30.

It will be alleged a 23-year-old Townsville man attended Mooloolaba Beach with a teenage girl between 10:30pm and 1am on December 1, when he assaulted her and pushed her into the ocean.

The man was charged with one count of rape and contravening an order about information necessary to access information stored electronically.

He is due to reappear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on February 24.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or approached the man and the girl at the time to come forward.

Breaking: A Queensland social media influencer has been charged with torture, with police alleging she deliberately poisoned her daughter to post about her sick 12-month-old to solicit donations and online followers.

A high-profile Queensland social media influencer has been charged with poisoning a baby, as well as torture, child exploitation and several other alleged offences.

The 34-year-old Sunshine Coast woman had documented the health struggles of the child online, all while administering unauthorised prescription and pharmacy medicines to the one-year-old girl to make her sick, police allege.

The woman allegedly produced the content and exploited the child to get donations and online followers.

Police arrested the woman at a home in Underwood on Thursday morning and charged her with five counts of administering poison with intent to harm, three counts of preparation to commit crimes with dangerous things, and one count each of torture, making child exploitation material and fraud.

She is expected to appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court on Friday.

not up to speed with qld influencers, but 'high profile' or 'celeb' is often clickbait in this instance and the follower count could be anywhere between 100 to 1 million, and these people are often nobodies.

Horrific.

A tragic case of mistaken identity could be behind a deadly arson attack that claimed the life of a young woman who was house sitting for her brother while he was on his honeymoon.

The 27-year-old was trapped inside a three-storey townhouse at Dover Street in Truganina in Melbourne’s west as it went up in flames about 2.30am on Thursday.

The Hoppers Crossing woman called emergency services to raise the alarm, however she did not survive.

She had a massive following.

There should be some sort of confirmation of these cases by a medical professional.

Do you mean the Daily Mail should have sought comment from the Queensland Children’s Hospital before publishing their piece linked upthread?

Or do you mean something else?

The case is before the courts. There will be a number of medical witnesses, some expert witnesses also, as I understand from watching the press conference given my QPS Representative DI Dalton today:

LIVE: Detective Inspector Paul Dalton will be available to answer questions relating to Morningside Child Protection and Investigation Unit charging a woman with torture following extensive investigations into allegations of an infant being poisoned.
