I'd still say the mobility of a sub-section of bodybuilders would be on par with (or ahead of) the mobility of a sub-section of the gen pop.
The guys in the Olympia can do poses that I don't have the shoulder mobility for, and I definitely don't have the ROM to do this lol.

Rich Piana was also deceptively mobile despite being massive (although most of what he says is a bit mumbo jumbo)

(this isn't to say they can't have bad mobility - more that as a general rule their mobility probs isn't "trash")

I’d say these guys (who it’s worth noting are the 1% elite of the sport) are the exception. I’m using the term to pick up all of them, amatuer to pro and I’m comparing them to those who do some sort of exercise.

If you’re comparing those guys to your standard couch potato sure I would agree.

Nice work. Unless you really enjoy the cardio side though there is no reason not to start mainly lifting heavy immediately. Will burn fat quicker and build muscle faster obviously
I don't mind a bit of running (once fit haha), like to be fit in general. When it warms up will ride to work as well.
Putting on muscle definitely the hardest thing for me.

Still doing yoga, can do and hold headstand for a couple of minutes. aiming for forearm and handstands, but as a 60 ye old tradie my shoulders are ****ed.

I have been doing Bikram Yoga for 4-5 years and absolutely love it, I have got all the poses down pat except for the standing head to knee pose, my 63 year old body just doesn't want to go the full distance with that one.

What brand of Yoga do you do?

I do Iyengar. I've been doing it for nearly 2 years but absolutely love it. I started doing an over 50s class but moved to the developing class about a year ago. The over 50s class was a bit slower paced and no inversions. Some of the people doing over 50s were aged well into their 70s and very fit and flexible. I was a bit embarrassed at my flexibility when I first started compared to them lol.

On a lean out early this year. Usually start September, going LCHF with 16-8 IF, to get lean for summer. This year turn the 50 towards the end of next month and trying to fool myself into I'm still young, by going early, starting about 6 weeks ago  Abs showing, but will need the remaining 4 weeks to make them stand out more. Downside of doing early is can't do anything about the pasty white skin

When I go to Perth because food is so expensive back home I will go to Coles and weave through every sigle aisle loading up on absolutely anything I need.

When you are doing an experiment with not eating any junk at all for a while it finally dawns on you just how little of the supermarket is not stuff that is unhealthy.

done 5k 5 times a week over the past month, with weights 4 times a week. feeling good progress with the running/endurance but not much with the lifts :(
Are you recording roughly what you are doing so you can tell for sure if you are getting stronger or not?

After 10 years of doing not much, cutting corners, not being able to motivate myself, I've become a cult member of BodyFit.

My theory is that I struggle to motivate to manage myself by going to the gym, or in our particular case, using the equipment we have in our garage with any sort of consistency. By going to these classes, my only responsibility is basically getting myself there.

Will aim to improve diet, cut down on bad food/booze (booze is a fair problem in the past year or so)

Hopefully see some results!

Yeah the old 'shop around the outside aisles only' is a pretty good rule of thumb really.

Probably the only aisles I go into regularly are the coffee aisle and the ones with the sauces/spices/olive oil/jarred olives etc.

Apart from relaxing it now to the odd bit of takeout like a burgers, kebab or my fav pizza I'm still sticking to it and surprisingly it's quite easy.

Did try some of my favourite ice cream a couple if weeks ago and whilst not bad it was very much 'meh'. It's weird like something has changed, used to be a big sweet tooth but the desire to eat that stuff has gone. Like sugar's addictiveness to the body has been removed.

What is the theory behind water consumption & weight loss? I can’t quite get my head around it, and if I drink say 2L per day I feel like I’m not losing weight. Though I understand water weight is a bit different than fat loss of course.

I’ve got my shopping down to outside + pasta/noodle aisle.
Although I get a fair bit of food at the local/independent food store (has an in house butcher then nearly everything else is from local farms).

Not sure what you mean? Drink as much water as you want, its only taking away from consuming other liquids with calories in them
