Supercoach Round 3 SC Talk - Round 3 Trades ,//, AFL Fantasy Round 2 AF Talk - Round 3 AF Trades
2026 We do it all for the nookie2022 We do it for the fans that missed out
2023 We do it for the way we crashed out last year
2024 We do it for Brayshaw
2025 We do it for Love
I wonder what the coaches and players say their motivation is going to be next season and then not be motivated by it
Come on!2026 We do it all for the nookie

Significant Other was probably one of my fav albums ever at that time, played it so much, now that im older I find a lot of the hits off it a bit cringe but there are still a couple of bangers on that album, I still love Nobody Like You with Jonathan Davis and No Sex.Come on!
Book in Limp Bizkit for the GF in March and that might motivate them to get there
Seeing Break Stuff live is still one of the greatest things I've ever seen in my life. Honestly not a huge fan of their music, I'm more of an 80s metal guy, but don't mind some of that era of Korn, Bizkit, Deftones, System Of A Down, Papa Roach, Coal Chamber, Static X, early Slipknot. Seemed like a natural progression from the Machine Head and Fear Factory types.Come on!

FNM could well be my favourite band of all time. Their reunion show at Festival Hall is the best show I've ever attended. Just incredible.Think Faith No More have a lot to answer for for the Nu-Metal craze.
PJ wanted Mahoney to become the CEO, turns out now we probably should have listened to him.I never wanted Josh Mahoney as CEO, didn't think he had the right vibe for the role, so was fairly non-plussed when they plucked Pert out of nowhere. Now I don't who we go for. Start with someone who doesn't make us all want to scratch our eyes out when they talk and go from there
Amazing how many people attached to this club are horrendous public speakers.
Thanks GreenyFrom what I've heard don't discount a new CEO not coming from traditional Football circles and thats a good thing
Such a confusing post. I'm still trying to break it down in my brain. Thanks Greeny
I really like the idea of Jason McCartney too. I much prefer the pipeline of a footy manager being elevated to the CEO role more than the idea of some random career executive from another industry coming in who has no idea how a footy club operates.Names mentioned by Caro, not the be all and end all obviously but thoughts on their AFL resumes:
Xavier Campbell, sweet Essendon Jesus no.
Keith Thomas, not exactly a boom time for Port while he was there. Missed finals in 6 of the 10 years. They did finish 1st in his final year though.
David Stevenson, resigned from the Dogs just over 1 year into the job cause of a breakdown with the president. Did win a flag during his 1 and only season though (not sure you can give him much credit for this). Current NBL CEO.
Jason McCartney, clear standout for me. Ill take anyone that has something to do with the Giants list and coaches they have in place.
Yep, good apprenticeship including list management with the Dogs from 2011 to 2016 when they won a flag. Been a part of building two different clubs into contenders.I really like the idea of Jason McCartney too. Absolutely, bring him in.Yep, good apprenticeship including list management with the Dogs from 2011 to 2016 when they won a flag. Been a part of building two different clubs into contenders.
I have no idea about any of those candidates, but I will say that PJ was the best CEO that we have had in decades and he should, at the very least, be involved in the recruiting process. I don't know if he was asked to be involved, but considering the way the club is run, I don't think anyone here would be surprised if he wasn't.Names mentioned by Caro, not the be all and end all obviously but thoughts on their AFL resumes:

I'll disagree with the part about it doesn't matter where they come from, I want an AFL background. Too many times I've seen clubs in other sports take chances on CEOs coming from elsewhere and it goes **** up.I have no idea about any of those candidates, but I will say that PJ was the best CEO that we have had in decades and he should, at the very least, be involved in the recruiting process. There is so much that is wrong with the club and so much that needs to be done, that we should just be looking for a capable CEO that has the capacity to fundamentally overhaul the entire organisation. Whether that person has or hasn't got AFL experience is irrelevant. A good leader will surround himself with the right people, and if he is lacking in AFL insights and expertise, he will make sure that he gets good footy people around him to provide advice and direction.
I don't know what Jason McCartney would be like as a CEO, but it's obvious that GWS is a very well run club, and if he can entice any of their staff to come and work for us, it would be an immediate improvement on what we currently have to put up with.
They didn't include PJ in the process when they were finding his successor so doubt they would include him now - And very much doubt he'd say yes anyway.I have no idea about any of those candidates, but I will say that PJ was the best CEO that we have had in decades and he should, at the very least, be involved in the recruiting process.
