Melbourne Victory supporters are to blame Thy, not my City fans.

This isn't a problem that can be blamed on one team or another, supporters of both teams were throwing flares onto the ground, why is this still happening? Why are they able to bring them into the ground? The City keeper then made a stupid decision to throw a flare back into the crowd. Victory supporters then took the disgusting action of storming the pitch and assaulting players and refs.

These problems are Soccer problems, not specific team problems. Every time Soccer makes some progress in this country, it manages to shoot itself in the foot. All the positivity and goodwill after the World Cup were gone in one fell swoop.

haven't seen anything like that on an afl ground as yet........we have our own moronic idiots but they just don't seem driven to outdo each other with regard to such levels of risk taking and anti-social violence..........

Ruining a moment to elevate the sport, get more funding etc. Big step backwards by a bumch of immature dikcheads

Not sure you can be sure about that Elmer. Something rotten in the domestic culture. A real shame.

If you look up the history of A League Crowd violence and or inappropriate behaviour.
95 % of incidents involve Melbourne Victory or Western Sydney Wanderers supporters.

They are worse (Victory fans) than Collingwood and Richmond ferals combined..

I never supported Victory when the A League started up, i attended a Melbourne Victory and New Zealand Knights game in the first season of the A League and saw a group of Victory hooligans intimidate and bully a couple of police officers on duty at the game, that told me all I needed to know about the type of 'supporter' that club attracts.
Also one of my female City supporting friends (Francis) was once threatened by a male Victory supporting pig that he would punch her in the face after she celebrated a goal in the Melbourne Derby (back when we were known as Heart)

I wasn't there, but if I was, I would have clocked that bastard, I am normally a pacifist, but no one, any time anywhere threatens females on my watch, especially friends or family and gets away with it..

Take my word, there is a special breed of scum in Melbourne Victory supporter fanbase, unlike anything else in Aus Sports.

I am proud my club (Melbourne Heart/City) has no such thugs for the most part.

A civilised club with civilised fans who just want to enjoy football and not be anti social tossers

like how well australia went in the world cup has the slightest thing to do with fan behaviour - oh, we had built up so much good will! what sort of sport has to cotinually build good will to be taken seriously? a thug is a thug any time, any where..........

Eight more people issued with bans following pitch invasion

A further eight people have been issued with bans by Football Australia relating to their involvement in the chaotic scenes that caused the abandonment of the A-League Men’s Melbourne derby last weekend.

The bans range from five to 20 years, effective immediately, and preclude the eight from all football-related activity, including attending matches and registering as a participant.
Football Australia promised swift action to “weed out” those who caused the disruption, and today’s announcement brings the number of bans issued by FA to 10. Two men were banned for life earlier in the week.

FA’s focus will now shift to processing Victory’s response to the show-cause notice issued to the club in the wake of the derby and an update is expected on Friday.
