Incredible energy at his age.

He was never gonna make at test level just because he had warne in his way, but i've never been able to work out how he wasn't an absolute gun in shield cricket. A shield average of nearly 38 doesn't come close to justifying his bowling ability.

but when talking about one day cricket he must be one of the spinners of all time. possibly top ten. he is 15th on the all time spinners ODI wicket taking list - the only guy below him you'd say was better than hogg was abdul qadir... maybe swann but he didn't play a whole lot of ODI cricket.

but above hogg there are quite a few i would consider him to be better than - afridi, hooper, jayasuriya, vettori, harbahajan and gayle. i don't know enough about the two bangladeshi spinners (razzak and al hasan) to comment.

so probably in the top ten ODI spinners of all time... or close enough to it.

regardless of what you think of his skill level he has gotta to be one of the most well liked players - his energy, intensity, funny bastard and the fact he is still doing his bit at 42.

Love him, was in the members right behind him chanting his name when he double fist pumped our win against Hobart after saving that 4, its one of my favourite sporting moments.

Great bowler and as you said he is getting better with age, to have a economy of around 6.5 in T20's is fantastic and his economy is better this series iirc. Will be a massive loss when he retires.

Economy -
BBL 01 - 5.62 | BBL 02 - 6.76 | BBL 03 - 5.54 | T20 INT - 7.51

In 2027?

The WACA/Furnace is incredible to be at when he comes on to bowl, the crowd goes absolute nuts.

His wrong'un may very well be the best delivery in world cricket, even today. Nobody can read it.

If Hoggy were fit enough to play shield cricket I reckon he'd dominate the shield batsmen of today. Very few Australian batsmen know how to play spin and no regular shield player can pick his wrong'un

Was a brilliant performer for us in our ODI side for many years after Warne's suspension. I have the tournament highlights of both the 2003 and 2007 World Cups and he played an enormous part in us taking both of those out.

It's remarkable how fit, agile and skilled he still is for a guy who is on the wrong side of 40 and was out of the game for a few years.

He apologised to the Gabba crowd after he took that catch in the first game. The fans seemed to like him as much as one of our own players.

Needs to bust out his flipper more often.

He debuted as a specialist batsman - didn't start bowling his chinamen until one of Tony Lock or Tony Mann (I forget which) suggested he start sending them down in the nets to help the others prepare to face NSW.

Handy batsman going back a little while.

Very.

It's amazing considering how damn good our ODI batting line up was (Hayden, Gilchrist, Ponting, Symonds, Martyn and Bevan... drool) that there could be so many games where performances from Bichel, Lee and Hogg counted for something!

That was actually the 1903 World Cup, not the 2003 one. He's been around a while, our Hoggy has.

He is the biggest w***er in world cricket at the moment.
Can not stand him.
Carries on like a Pork Chop every time he gets a wicket.
The sooner he retires, the better for everyone concerned.

Started recording a video of him bowling on my phone only to find myself recording his wicket in full, very lucky. Hope they can be this time lucky this season, will be a challenge, but he's hanging on to his career until he gets that prize.

I would be stoked if he was bedding my mother TBO. Maybe you can ask him for a game or two of backyard cricket
