So, I went to Waverley and got a tour of the Hawks facility, a few years ago, when they were crap (went to a game too). The guy taking the tour was their first premiership captain; the feeling of togetherness and history was palpable despite the fact that the team was crappy at the time. Having that feeling around the club is what Freo needs to aspire to - even if it takes a while, build it as a dynasty. Don't become a later version of St Kilda or the Dogs - much as I like them, they've never really had that feeling of building for excellence, of permanence.
