Note to Filth: Remember to pack knee-high pvc boots.

Sounds like you'll be needing them.

Yet, no love for Mr Show.

And those kneehigh pvc boots are purely for the inevitable KISS reunion tour.

Hooking on to a 'Make A Wish' kid?

Or, did it go something like this...

Thanks for making me laugh and cringe at the same time. I didn't know I could do that. And no, you've seen the friend I was referring to. He's not "special" in that way.

I can't wait for this at Mt Buller...

I'd rate the reunion of the Laughing Clowns almost as highly.

Hearing "Eternally Yours" live is the stuff of dreams.

And while we're on the subject of fantastic resurrections, The Primitive Calculators were a seriously excellent band from the late 70's, and I'm rapt to hear that they're back together and bringing their music to a new audience. A brilliant, sadly under-acknowledged act from the pioneering days of the Australian underground.

Hehe. I never tire of this.

Would it be fair to assume that you haven't heard an album called "United By Fate" ?

Highlights of the Soundwave line-up for me would be......

Rival Schools, Alkaline Trio, Face To Face, and the very brilliant, Minus The Bear.

Other than that, with a few exceptions (such as Alice, Bloodhound Gang, 36 Crazyfists), it's pretty much an Emo wankfest.

With a shit headline act.

I'll probably go and see a few of the bands I'm not familiar with and will hopefully enjoy them. Will plan my day to avoid the emo bands.

And there's already enough PVC in my household.

Al Jorgenson > Trent Reznor

I'm confused. I always thought the ">" symbol meant "is greater than", but now it appears it means "was ripped off wholesale by".

Thanks for clearing that up.

Momentarily reverting back to the symbol's traditional meaning.....

Trent Lane > Trent Reznor

Trent Lane = first love interest.

Seriously.

I'm quite looking forward to Tex Perkins and his Ladyboyz at Palms @ Crown on October 26.

Check out this wondeful little video for an idea of what to expect.

Eric Clapton Australian tour just announced!! March next year!! Not sure of all shows, but at least Melbourne!!! Can't Wait!!! :D :D :D

From Where's Eric?

"Legendary musician Eric Clapton will travel "Down Under" with his band for a series of concerts in New Zealand and Australia in March 2009. The "Down Under" concerts will kick off 4 March in Auckland, New Zealand and end 10 March in Melbourne, Australia. Tickets for all shows will go on sale 24 October.

"Eric Clapton last toured Australia and New Zealand in January 2007."

I'm there, world recession or not!:). I'll be there on the 11th too, when they announce a second concert.

Yes, I went to both nights. When the band opened with the first few bars of "Tell the Truth" I could not believe (a) that I was seeing him sober and live (after so many years) and (b) how brilliant it was.

I know you went and that you loved it too. I've read it somewhere on BF.

The band was smaller for his recent tours of the US, Canada and Europe, no Derek Trucks, no Tim on keyboards(tough gig replacing Billy Preston (RIP)), and a new rhythm section.

He may change it again, I suppose. Doesn't really matter because whoever he uses will be the best.

Good post Mr. R :thumbsu: I went to the second show. I absolutely love his work with Derek and the Dominoes, didn't think I'd ever hear him play that stuff live, simply amazing.

I havent read anything about what his back-up is like now, so thanks for the info :) Setlist will also be interesting.. seems to still be playing Dominos-style stuff, so maybe he'll change it up for his 2nd time Down Under. Either way, it'll be a great show!

On a side note... Went to see ex-Wedding Parties Anything frontman Mick Thomas play last night, at the Oakleigh Bowling Club of all places. Simply amazing!! Absolutely blew the roof off the place. Really really rockin'. Would highly recommend to any Aussie music fan!!

Thanks, 24_Spud. You might want to save this site as a favourite. It's worth a walk through when you've got the time.

I got to admit, when I heard Alter Bridge were coming to town, I was very, very excited. Then I heard P.O.D were joining them, and my excitement level rose a tad more.

Then I heard they were opening for Disturbed.

What a waste. Now I got'sta wait until next time.
