I reckon it is time for Brett Lee to be given a chance to play, he is the most exciting and one of the fastest bowlers in the world.

He is an automatic One Day Selection

But in the Test Arena he is far from getting a game. Pigeon and Kaspa are going very well, it might be time to let Dizzy have a rest and play Lee in the next test against the Kiwis!

I agree that Lee should play tests, but wait for the reaction from all the lee -eaters to come soon.

So Andrew Symonds should be given a chance at test level.
He is an automatic selection in ODI's.

JUBJUB Buddy, Andy Symonds is no doubt one of australia's best One Day players. The buck stops at One Day Cricket for him. Brett Lee has played a number of tests and is trying to crack back into the Australian XI, he deserves a test here and there, even if it is a dead rubber, give a guy a chance. He would be an opening bowler in any other country in the world!!!!!

Then hopefully he'll bugger off to another country.Hopefully he takes the whinging bozo manager of his with him .

So for the 3rd test let's rest the current 11 and play 11 players that deserve a go because of their form over recent years

1 M Hussey
2 M Elliott
3 B Hodge
4 M Love
5 M Bevan
6 A Symonds
7 W Seccombe or B Haddin
8 D Wright
9 B Lee
10 S MacGill
11 S Tait

Mate you are living in a fantasy!

That team you supplied is only fit for Pura Cup All-stars!

Hussey deserves to play for australia, hodge too....

Tait is a chucker man!

He has a dodgy action!

What utter crap. Lee has to earn his spot, like everyone else. Everyone accepts this (with the exception of Lee, his pathetic manager, and a couple of whinging BF ignorant fools).

So is Andy Symonds, but as was proven he is a shyte test cricketer. By your logic Hogg should replace Warne because of his great ODI form

And rightly so. McGrath and Kaspa have performed brilliantly over the past 12 months, and Dizzy is so far superior to Brett Lee it is not funny.

No he has a slinging action, virtually impossible to chuck when you sling (ie Thommo).

Is this you starz? I didn't think there was anyone else with your level of cricketing ignorance.

My only concern is that it is not good for the next in line bowler to not have played cricket for more than a year.

Either need some sort of rotation to keep match fit and mentally prepared, or adopt a rotating 12th man policy to release for 1st class cricket.

Next season I think CA will produce a schedule that allows the 12th man to play shield cricket.

If Lee is serious he will play county cricket, after cleaning the dirt off his dummy of course.

You know, the Symonds argument has a hell of a lot of validity....no sense arguing bowlers with these guys...they have their views and refuse to accept overwhelming CURRENT statistical evidence...

Lee has played numerous tests (37?) and has not had a decent test since when...maybe early 2000? Talk about getting a run when you aren't producing.... Symonds got one test, failed and was canned- no hope of a recall...who is to say he might not smack a ton in his next game? Why shouldn't he be given as many opposrtunities as Lee to fail on the big stage...I mean, there are batsmen better than Symonds at test level- why shouldn't THEY step aside....and symonds has at least played four day matches, something Lee can't claim...

Nope- three bowlers in the top 16 in the world- obviously the Test spearheads- send Lee to the counties....see if he knows how to bowl the long version without making the national side suffer when he gets rocked....who cares what happens to Gloucestershire, except maybe the UK based BF posters (sorry, Dave W and London adeladian- no offence intended....have to deal with the Lee barrackers who don't understand how selection happens....

Exciting and fastest does not necessarily mean successful, and Lee's record for the past five years in the longer game sucks...prove it outside of the test arena, then go for selection. One Day success does not equal Test success....

When one of our bowlers is injured, then give him a go.

Until he actually proves himself in FOUR DAY games, he should not be selected for a Test.

Has starz and brillant pies create many aliases to make a Brett Lee fan club that potentially only involve 1 or 2 members?

Sickening.
I think starz == brilliant pies, so there may only be one person ;)

Yet another stupid thread. There is no reason to change the side. Australia will be unchanged for test on Saturday. Rain is forecast throughout the Easter weekend in New Zealand.

Yea and maybe likka = cooldude
There are Lee fan clubs out there...just do a search, and i very highly doubt there would be even one Kasper fan site.

What it comes down to ladies and gents, my last comment on this (hopefully) so read carefully...
Lee at 100% in form Vs Kasper at 100% in form. = Lee>>>>>>Kasper
End of discussion

Well hopefully, it is your last words, but again, your knowledge of cricket sucks...

ODI, I'll give you Lee over Kasper (inconsequential cricket, really)

Tests- the last five years do not bear it out- and you've given no evidence otherwise- Lee may have been injured for part of the time, but not all 5 years

Kaspa>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
could go about 50 more lines
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Lee (consistency and cricketing nous over sheer speed and a lack of understanding on the art of bowling)

Hope you enjoy your retirement....

The problem with this statement is that -
(1) Lee has not been at 100% form in Test Cricket for about 4 years
(2) 100% form in one-day international cricket is worth jack you-know-what when it comes to selecting a Test side

In addition to the above, Kasprowicz is performing quite nicely at Test level and is clearly justifying his place in the side.

That is why Brett Lee is not in the Test side.

End of discussion. :D
