Don't forget his foray into occupational health and safety.

My favourite Jako memory - one moment in the '94 prelim against Melbourne at the WACA. Jako gets possession on the back flank right in front of my seat, steams off at 90kmh, runs 100m and delivers a perfect pass. Not much in the scheme of things, but for some reason that's always stuck in my mind.

Well, that's how I remember it anyway, even if it happened nothing like that!

Yeah Carneagles! Opposition coaches have always said..he's slow, thats how we can beat him but he can be preety fast when he wants...especially for a big man!
Did anyone get a cookbook of the eagles in the mid 90's. It was a book on the star players and their favourite foods. I remember them doing Peter Sumich and apparently the night after Pete and his wife were married Glen knocked on the door and said ..Hi Sam (Suma's wife), whats for dinner..Oh by the way I bought a bottle of wine! :D :D How awesome is that..it shows how close he and suma must have been and probably still are..apparently the 2 of them and Woosha were like the 3 amigo's or something like that and they loved spending time together and doing fun stuff. I wonder whether now that Suma, Woosha and Jako are all back at the Eagles together they hang out together now!
Jako story 2:
Did anyone notice that in Micks last game as coach that at 3/4 time(MM last address as coach of the eagles) Jako started to cry?

My Jako Story: Back when i was about ten years old,in 1993 iirc, me and about five or six other kids went on a phys ed excursion to watch the Eagles train. I remember they were unbelievably nice to us, talked, signed autographs, and basically chatted with us until Mick was obviously getting annoyed that they weren't actually doing much in the way of training. So we end up sitting way back in the stands behind the goals. Anyhoo, they're doing setshots, and Jako boots one absolutely huge torp from about sixty out... football comes in, and zeroes in directly on my head. Being the fiesty young ten year old that I am, I think 'this is my chance!', and go for the specky overhead. Naturally, it dings me directly on the noggin, and in fact, broke my nose. When I got up and wiped the blood out of my eyes. I could see about five or six players laughing at Jako, because he's just killed some kid (the names Langdon and Mainwaring may have featured), but he's already sprinting over, and he looks genuinely concerned. Kinda pointless story, I know, but the Mad Croat really is a very nice bloke indeed.
Incidentally, it was about then I decided I was more of a spectator than a player when it came to football!

Dont know why were talking as if he is in his last year...i think he'll play for at least 3 more years...he's only 28 isnt he??

He'll keep playing, he is having a good season, not one of his best, but a good season anyway.

The media seem to be the ones who think he will retire at the end of the year. They seem to forget he was only 17 when he first played. They tend to count the ears played, not his age.

I think he's having a very good season..his best in like 5 years!

"However, he may grow bored of terrorising forwards one day, and choose to step down so young Quinten can get a game."

Apparently Young Quinten is getting his chance this weekend.

Excellent......
