"Just to comment about his injury - it's very, very similar to Nathan's (Brown) but the fracture itself was a lot cleaner.

Expected to be sidelined for the remainder of the year, Newman should be ready in time for the start of Tigers' 2007 campaign.

"There's a lot of work that needs to be done and he's got a lot of things that can potentially hold him up but as this stage we couldn't have hoped for a better early phase to the injury," Hickey said.

"We're hopeful that by round one, he'll be out there."

YES YES YES! IVE NEVER, AND WILL NEVER BE THIS HAPPY TO HEAR THAT SOMEONE HAS BROKEN THEIR LEG "CLEANLY". Obviously im upset for him, missing out on the rest of the season, but I was initially worried he might not come back at all. To hear its less severe than Browny's means he should be able to come into the 2007 season without the soreness that Brown had.

Hopefully his leg grows back even stronger, like some sort of super leg, so he can kick goals from anywhere on the field and run, no hop, ten times faster than any other person the field. That would be cool.
Newman is cool. He killed the Irish last year, but not this year apparently...

Love the way this guy posts:D :thumbsu:

LMAO @ super leg.

Horrible injury for any player, wish him all the best on his road to recovery. It's not something you see often in the AFL..but twice in a short period for the Tiges is just plain bad luck.

Don't look for any sarcasm or malice because it's not there.

I, like many others, enjoyed calling out "Newman" just like Jerry Sienfeld, whenever Chris got the ball (which was frequently as of late), but now I'll have to wait until next year. If only we had a Costanza!!!
