Will a person using the "auto-fill" feature ever have a chance at winning DT?
Now, the proper utilisation of trades plays a big part of the game, but just look back at last year- it is possible to win DT without using ANY trades if you pick all the right players.
Now lets assume that a smart, DT-savy person chose auto-full and was smart with their trading.

Or... What if an absolute idiot chose "auto-fill" and was rewarded with the perfect lottery. 300,000 people- there is a chance of that happening.
What if a person chose auto-fill and didnt look at their DT for the rest of the year and they ended up winning? Wouldnt that make for an interesting column in next years AFL Record- NAB Cup and DT guide.

Well lets say Darren Glass, Chris Tarrant and Ben Hudson type players were in this team and you had someone like Team Director behind the wheel the best it would come is about 500th or so. If it had statistically the best trading you can do I reckon it would come close to number 1.
If you got lucky and some of the players in that team were YAblett and Swan it could quite easily finish well with outstanding trading.
Another thing to take into account is money left over. If you had $1,000,000. You could trade a second tier premium ala Watson and swap him up to a Swan in Round 2. Same goes with Tarrant like players.
It can be done but it is better creating a 5 minute team than clicking the Auto-Fill button...

Had a good last round 2320 and went from 23rd to 15th
So there was no prize that year I quess, do you know if there where any prizes for the other states.

Does anyone know how the draw is done for leagues? I'm normally one of the higher scoring teams in our league and every year I end up playing the other good teams early. The games are generally a bit of a lottery.
Then later in the year, from about round 10 I start to play the crapper teams who have used all their trades early in an attempt to catch up and make the 8. These teams will crash and burn in finals as they've used all their trades doing early upgrades and can't cover injuries but as they've completed their trades and I haven't they have often closed the gap. I often have to do more early trades (i.e. before cash cows have hit their peak) than I want to keep ahead of them.
Is this just bad luck or are the league games scheduled based on scores in the first 1 to 3 rounds or maybe how early you register or join the league? If it's based on scores in the first round I'm tempted to throw it to ensure I get the draw I want and hence be able to conserve trades and have a better team come round 19...

Is there anywhere you can find out at what number did you sign up at? Don't they give you numbers based on who was first registered? I reckon I'd be in the top 10. Just refreshed the page, got the school thing going straight away and put an auto-fill team in for insurance. Of course got my actual team in there now though.

Well I think hes back in full training, I suppose it just depends on whether he will slot back into the team straight away.
I think he will as we've missed his penetrating kick-ins but just have a look at him during the nab cup and closer to round 1 I guess.
Hey guys i've read this somewhere but can't find it. How many keepers do i need to select in my team of 30?
Work it out backwards.
22 on the field.
20 trades.
6 Injury trades.
2 trades for round 3 sideways swapping.
12 trades for upgrades.
So, if you believe you can turn 6 players into keepers with 12 trades, then you want 16.
If you've got a couple of midpricers in there that should only need one trade to turn into a keeper, then that number comes down.
Of course, if you wanna balls-to-the-walls it, then you can start robbing "injury trades" to pay "upgrade trades" and fit even more in.
