Sounds like the GV admin are following in the steps of the NRL.

Swans being 0-3 is certainly a shock considering they were the hot tip to win the flag. In the next month they have Seymour, Euroa, Rochester and United. They would want to win at least three of those ones.

I got a message saying Rochy was down by 26 during the third term. Rochy kicked 8 goals to nil in the last. Pez Oliver had another great game, kicked 6 and was BOG again.

Echuca were up by as much as 30 points early in the third term...Rochy kicked the last 11 goals of the match unanswered. Bombers had no run in the final term and coughed the pill up when they did get it. Tigers just wanted it more.

there is no way that benella will go to the ovens and kings football league that is the silliest thing i have heard they have a good young crop of players and all they need is to stay injury free and get a few blokes next preseason and they will b up and about again

Amazing!!!!!!! I put a comment in on Sat ref Meka, the Swan's and the Tribunal and today it has vanished!!!
Meka must own a slice of Big Footy as well!!! Or maybe they don't like the truth!!!

Tigers still look the side to beat - have beaten Ky at Ky and Echuca at Echuca. They weren't talked up a great deal in pre season which is surprising. They obviously weren't at their best in the Prelim Final last year, which is probably why people neglected them. But they were the best team by a mile throughout the home and away season. They look to have a better balanced side this year and no doubt a new coach has injected some enthusiasm.

Dont write Echuca off after 1 game. Echuca will get better when they all play together for 6 weeks. I reckon the big smokey at present is United as have been winning well and that win against Mansfield at Mansfield rates right up there. Although THIS year Ned wont buy a premiership.............

Totally agree, Echuca's first half was impressive. Definately wouldn't write them off. They have too many good players to dismiss. Egan, Prendagast and Sutton will straighten them up a bit when available. I think the top 6-7 are all in with a legitimate chance.

It was rumored Egan didn't play 1's because he hadn't trained during the week and would not play 2's. Rochy were good, and ran over the top of them, but as stated previously, Echuca will probably get better once side is a bit more settled.

The top six for mine at this early stage in no particular order: Rochester, Mooroopna, United, Mansfield, Echuca, and Kyabram. I haven't put the Swans in as they seem to self destruct most years, even though they have some very good players running around. Probably still too early to tell after 3 rounds, but just my 2 cents worth.

Just like to clarify the 'Chris Egan' situation- Chris was to play early in the week but could'nt train Thursday and as a result missed playing. Hopefully he can get through training this week and play against United. Chris is a popular and respected member of the club and was at the game

Little(TAT) Pollock(Ech) Osbourne(Moor) YZE (Swans)

Open to debate obviously
paul colbert nearly the first player i would pick.and his brother brent is a dynamic player who can play nearly any position.osbourne could play on a permit from the murray league and saad could do the same from the northern league!!!!!!!

Massive couple of games coming up this week. Rochy Vs Mooroopna with the winner of this possibly to hold early favouritism for the flag. I think the fact that Rochy have had pretty much the same unit for a couple of years is working in their favour this early in the year. Most other clubs have recruited heavily and will take time to gel. In such an even year injuries are going to play a massive role come the business end of the year. Depth may just decide who is there when it counts, with that in mind it may pay to keep an eye on who has strong reserves sides.

Chairman Ian McDonald in todays Shepp News on some feedback from the coaches about the timing of the split round "If some of the coaches have got an issue then they need to get off their a**es and talk to their delegates before the season. "

Is he under a bit of pressure and/or just not happy with getting feedback from the coaches? Obviously too late to change anything this year but I'm sure the opinions of the coaches will help in having more people/clubs/coaches happy next year and beyond!
