Yes -apparently true! Will qualify for finals. I wonder who will miss out if the Swans make it

I know I'll get howled down but not bad for a club who last year cut player payments and dismissed a coach because they couldn't commit to being able to pay what the club had agreed.

This is where all the Swans supporters say "but there all mates and playing for nothing just because there all mates and want to play together again. Not really paying what they are worth"

I really do hope they win the flag this year as I question how long they can survive as money always runs out at some stage especially in a tough market like Shepp................Just a matter of time.

Satrudays results just show how even and intersting this year is in the GV. Tat who haven't really fired a shot this year rolling the red hot swans. United winning without Eagle over Rochy probably confirms their depth is better than many thought. Normally this far into the season you can pick one or two standout sides but this year it really looks like any of the top 8 can beat each other on their day.
Echuca were pretty impressive in the second half against Ky. Ky dominated the first Qtr and a half but could not put it on the scoreboard. They should have been 5 goals up at half time. Echuca dominated the second half and made the most of all their chances. Dorward was very impressive for Echuca. What were your thoughts Ringo?

Great call MJ - Mansfield over Mooroopna was a bit of a turn up, too.. It's really good for the comp that it is so even this year - rarely does a country comp get to the half way point of the season without a clear flag favourite. Any of Echuca, Ky, United, Mooroopna, Swans and Rochy could still hit their straps in the second half of the year, but Mansfield, Seymour and Tat pose as potential threats.

I still reckon Rochy seem to have the most room for improvement, got some class not playing and Bowen and Campbell haven't fired a shot yet this year.. Of course, if Jeff White suits up for the swans and all their recruits fired on the same day they'd cause some headaches..

Mooroopna actually beat Mansfield mate after being down by 5 goals in the 3rd quarter.
Could be possible for a team to win it this year from 5th or 6th. Will be one of the most anticipated finals series in recent years.

He went off in the 2nd quarter with a hamstring and didn't come back on I believe.

I wouldn't have said that Edward was all that young either...

Anyone heard that mathew hodgetts and kristian davey are headin to shepp bears from murch so they can get a gvfl game and say they played at that standard??? davey if he gets his west adelaide form back mite get a run in the back pocket but hodgetts is no hope as he ski,s down hill more than the roo has a day off!!!!!

Has anyone else heard, that a GV coach, quit again on the weekend, only to be told he has to stick it out until the end of the year.

If it's who I think it might be it is not all footy related. There is an illness in the family that is probably having an effect and I hope there is a good outcome.

The lions got up over the eagles in all grades today at king's park.
Great win by the young lions. They are really coming along.
Paul Colbert was super.Young blokes like Wheeler,Coyle,Deed,Cole and a few others are impressive. The big monster mench played well, he is a country footy marvel.Number 8 for mansfield was good in patches, very good offensively but overweight, unfit and refuses to apply any defensive pressure, which really hurt his team mates at crucial times.
Roll on lions.

Forgot to mention the umpiring was ordinary.
The seymour fans were going ballistic and at times were feral and quite embarresing.

Went toi see mooroopna and ky today. Mightily disappointed in the Cats, for the top team of the comp they were very ordinary. Hard to believe it was the same Ky team who the week before were so poor against Echuca. It seems like this season we can expect the unexpected.
Haven't seen Ky this year till today but they looked good..... or was it the cats so poor. Newman, Pettifer, Barnett will be a handful for any side. Gay was ordinary, too slow and Ky's young blokes exploited him badly.
ky's bushies were huge, christ that Ogden is a goer and he racks up the possies and Reeves was impressive with some nice work in the ruck and goals up forward.
Still think that United and Echuca are the favs, Mooroopna were badly exposed today.

watched Rochy and Tat on the weekend and was impressed with Little/Kirby ruck combination. Kirby still seeks to make contact after the contest but I think they would be the number 1 combination in the GV at present. Kept tat in the game for 3 quarters but Tat fell away badly last quarter.

A couple of upsets yesterday with mansfield and tat having good wins continues to make the season even more interesting. Should be a good match this weekend between the two top teams
