You'd probably have a good eye for that type of thing Duff Man seeing as a few years ago you developed a big footy "split personality" masquerading as a Euroa supporter or player before reverting back to Seymour.

Quite comical really.

Tusken you are all over it, very true :D:D

Really looking forward to hearing an explanation from Ringo, Yeehaa, Burp etc. Where were all your superstars today when the pressure was on. Possibly the best list in country Victoria failed AGAIN to make the big dance.
Ringo please explain why you left it until the last quarter to move Perry forward. You clearly lacked a key forward all day and he kicked 3 in the last, massive mistake. Something must be wrong at that club to have the sides they have had the last 2 years and fail to even make the granny.
You can't buy heart which is exactly what the Cat's showed today, no one rated them, when they rolled the dice in the 3rd and played for one another it was their kids who put them on top! However Adem Yze played a blinder when the game was in the balance. Well coached Cats. Their going to have to play even better though next week to get over Quarrell's mob who have had their measure to date. Still stranger things have happened!

Full credit to Mooroopna they were fantastic today, applied plenty of pressure on Echuca and definitely played for each other. To do what they did without there best player in Roberts and losing Mghie fairly early was a great effort. Hats off to Brad and his boys, if they can apply that sort of pressure to United they are a chance next week.

Brett is on a hiding to nothing at echuca...I can't believe how many people want to bring him and the club down, even echuca people. Would be a tough club to coach. I hope he gets the opportunity to go on again.

I watched the game yesterday and too be honest i didnt know half the cats side but all i can say is that the old line a Champion TEAM will always beat a team of Champions

Looking fwd to the Granny this week United are a bit like collingwood if you dont barrack for them you hate them

If Mooroopna win which i think they can could this be one of the biggest upsets of all time?

I wouldnt call it a massive upset if mooroopna win. With the list they have had over the past few years it would be probably fulfilling their potential to win one. Yesterday was the 1st time I've seen them play as a team. Except for schirmer who continues to give away 50s and get sent off/reported

So what did Schirmer actually get reported for, Was it a clumsey elbow to the face??? I was at the game but coudn't Tell...
So big questions Will Roberts Play and now will McGie get himself up... The young fella then went into the ruck from mooroopna held his own but he'll need more help this week if he has to play the whole game in there....
Mooroopna looked more Potent with AYze & DYze in the forward 50..
Adem played off half back the week before against united.

I agree with an earlier post Echuca should of shifted Perry forward at about half time if they wanted to win the game.
Also a negative for the game not sure many others thought the same.
Went out to echuca 3/4 time huddle. Wes Cusworth anouncing raffle winners adn other thinsg all through 3/4 time and you coudlnt even hear what the coaches were saying. A bit disappointing.

Archard looked hampered by a knee injury clutching it several times throughout the day.

Did hear a comment in the crowd - "It looked as if Echuca trained without the balls last week - They couldnt hit targets 3 meteres away by hands or 30 m by foot." A tough assessment but maybe a thumbs up to the cats pressure

So we have
UNITED - MOOROOPNA
TATURA - BENALLA
SHEPPARTON - UNITED

Looking forward to it. Hope the weather is similar to yesterday

Pretty sure players werent happy half way through the year but the reason we all rejoice at the loss is the coaching panel members getting on here and slagging off other teams who we know arent champions but are competitive. NO TEAM in the GV has recruited a better playing list than Echuca in the last 2- 3 years but they cant put a performance under pressure in. When they are down they dont get up. Some might say front runners..........
I honestly think Hendo has had his time with that team and couldnt produce so time to let someone else try. Not sure how many players like Height and McGlone will travel back "for free" to play " with their mates".
I'm smiling just typing that last lot of dribble..................

Bit harsh on heighty there GG.. Don't think he ever would've said he played for free, and whilst we was justifiably renumerated for playing at echuca this year there's no doubt he's on significantly less than what he could get if he played closer to Melbourne. At the end of the day being able to play with his mates is one if the main reasons he went back and he's a cracking bloke and gun player and in my opinion deserves more than u giving him a cheap whack after a gut wrenching loss.

I don't think he is having a crack at Heighty in his comments there Tav.:thumbsu:

Anyone see the schirmer incident. From what I've heard it was a pretty crude elbow to the head of an Echuca player. With dry weather predicted he would be a huge loss to mooroopna.

As suggested not having a go at any player just the concept players are coming from Timbucktoo and because they were once "locals" play for next to nothing. Its been written all year and still isnt right.
I think you will find Height and Archard are being renumerated as well as anyone in country footy and good luck to them as they are being paid for the players they are.

In my opinion you need to read before you try and stand up for something you dont understand. Nuff said.

watched the game and from a neutral perspective, Echuca were unable to convert early but were able to hang on up until 1/2 time. The Yze bros (7 & 13) broke it open in the 3rd. The young bloke who went into the ruck for Moor after Mcghee went down dominated the centre for 10 mins and thats where Moor got away.....Sofi I think his name was got free on his wing in the last and was also a telling factor.

Having said that ,Echuca looked great in patches , particularly Egan with his run and carry, but they weren't able to string a couple of goals together when they needed to. I don't think the coaching panel can be blamed for for blokes not being able hit targets or making average decisions under pressure on the day. After all players have to be prepared to put their hands up too...

Full credit to Mooroopna they had the right structures/match ups in place. Echuca were certainly sloppy and had a number of players down, but thought they could have made changes a lot earlier than they did.
Echuca boys are 'GUTTED' and no doubt there will be a number of changes next year.

I think everyone is forgetting that the Cats beat Echuca both times we played them during the year and on the weekend were far better on the day. With Lach McGhee going down and a send off in the last quarter, Echuca had their chances (good luck to Lach getting up for this week to see both sides at full strength). Mooroopna's skill and speed on the day was better and were better coached. You wonder why Echuca didn't play their usual second ruckman - McCurry, as Webster convincingly beat the young kid they brought in during the middle of the third quarter which broke the game open. Perry to full forward earlier could have been a good move also. I've followed Echuca's story with keen interest and know a number of players and it would have been a good story if they did win it. I don't think anyone is saying these players came back for "free" but its fair to say they were all playing for significantly less than where they were on previously so they could all play together. From what I hear the players weren't happy with the coach and no individual is bigger than the club. Apparently the players raised concerns last year over his coaching ability and it was overlooked by the club. The fact that he may was displaying his team changes openly on Twitter shows how much of an immature and ego driven character he is which is not ideal leadership.

Prediction this week, Mooroopna by 10 points, Adem Yze BOG.

100% right TT that was a pivotal point in the game but as I said in my earlier post Echuca weren't able to hit targets or kick goals early. Height missed a few......Don't know Hendo that well but, as I said earlier, players also have to be accountable....

No problems with your observations-some facts- I placed one tweet that was open ended about the team weeks ago. Yes, perhaps a mistake. I can assure you that there is no ego involved. I can also say that not one player approached me about my coaching.I had three reviews in my time and they were all player driven and the reviews were positive. I also had a leading teams session and was told areas that I needed to improve in- I think I adapted to that. Don't know who you are and don't really care but I can tell you that I did my best and am very disappointed. Whatever anyone thinks of me is none of my business but I will strongly stress that ego is not part of my character. Pretty sick of potshots but thats the life of a coach:rolleyes:
