Might be United or Euroa who slide into 6th if that is the case. Rochy are not up to it on current form.

Silver. Did you see the game today.
( I didn’t )

I hear Rochy we’re down by 40odd points before a few in time on.

Not the form you expect playing someone below you on the ladder.

I see the coach was best player.

Others need to start stepping up

Do you pick your best team on form or talent ?
Or role needed or style
Fairly sure finals bound teams know best 21 by now
If you know you might have a quality player available come finals time you would be having conversations in club on how it will effect the team and individuals within that team l would presume

Might be tough for tatura
Could they have a new coach next year ringo ?

I would think if they miss September then they might try and source a new coach. I think Daniels has been there for 3-4 years now. I don't know the inner workings of the club and I like seeing coaches supported. Hopefully they can turn it around. For mine, the most concerning aspect is that its their second 1 point loss in the last few weeks.

No mate I didn't get back for it but was watching the score updates on the website. Yes a a few problems at Tigerland Post. I think the move of Stroobants from North to Coburg has hurt. 15 games last year to 1-2 this year and the timing meant they don't have an effective forward. Hence the move on the Williamstown bloke Ringo mentioned earlier in the year.

Clubs seem to be getting in earlier every year. Another good job is Hillside in the EDFL. Coaches are getting harder to find due to the workload so well done to the teams getting on the front foot.

Thanks mate.

Great opportunity for any coaches or players looking to move into coaching ranks. Big junior numbers and a young senior list with room to recruit and add some quality.

Cheers

Lucas White who played in a couple of Flags in the NT with St.Mary's and Coached Numurkah to a Grand Final is their as an Assistant Coach and pulled them a few of their recruits this year would be under strong consideration if interested. They haven't recruited enough fire power in recent years more hoping resting Ruckman can build the basis of a successful forward line plus they just don't have enough players who are clean enough with the Footy Che Walls a prime example. Works hard gets in and rounds it up then often gives it straight back. The points system isn't great for them as their local base is a fair not great like a Kyabram and I'm unsure if they've either wasted their money or don't have enough points/money to get the topliners too seriously contend. My opinion is Daniels has done a fair job and been really committed to the role but at the same time I'd be surprised if he could Coach them to a Flag.

His own injury hasn't helped matters. Could yet lose Fothergill for a game(s) shortly as well

Don't disagree Doc. I don't know the intricacies of the Bulldogs as well as you although most on the forum felt Tatura were the side who might finish top three early doors.

There are only two. Echuca are the only side that can threaten the champs. Walker is the key as he is absolute star! The deluge/electrical storm at Victoria Park two weeks back meant I didn't see a proper game. 1st qtr (prior to deluge) Walker was fabulous. I have been critical of Willis previous years but he has found a new lease of life up forward. His voice as important as his actions. That said, Willis killed Rochy in Rd 1. Echuca will need their VFL boys back in finals to challenge Kyabram come the pointy end but they appear well coached and ready to play. That big boy Allan is impressive.

Great insight Tongue. Echuca will need two disciplined defenders that can shut down Mueller and Pettifer if they play off. Those two contribute around 70% of their goals. For mine this will be the key if they face off in the GF. we will get a better gauge of Echuca's hopes in a few weeks time at Vic Park. The last time they meet was under lights and I didnt see the game but Ky were apparently much better than the Murray Bombers. A day game might give us a fair indication regarding the gap between them.

Rochy were soundly beaten. Few goals in junk time of the last quarter flattered us.

Found it hard to believe Euroa had only won four games for the season. They were impressive. Bigger bodies actually looked a confident team. Didn't take note of stats at each break, but think they would have dominated the clearances.

James Gledhill and Flaz can only do so much, and they were under the pump all day.

From memory, James McPhee kicked five and looks like his confidence is growing. There is no one there to complement him at the moment. Unsure if Free is injured / down on confidence / not up to it (harsh, possibly). Hamilton is a future star, but would thrive with someone to help with the workload.

Pretty clear that Nath Marrone is the go to through the middle of the ground. Get it to him. Is a great player, but this is predictable.

Has been the case for years, but Rochy being undersized on the weekend was very noticeable. Great that young blokes are being exposed to senior footy, but can anyone remember when we last had a side with plenty of big mature bodies?

While the above sounds all negative, the club future looks in good hands. Seconds and thirds doing well.

Clear that Kyabram and Echuca are the only two genuine contenders.

Ky's record speaks for itself. They deserve all the accolades they get. Have watched a lot of GV footy and they are the best I've seen.

A lot of water to go under the bridge, butEchuca can get them. As a Rochester supporter, it's not natural to talk up Echuca, but they have the potential and should have the belief. Shepp people talked about taking a bit from each time they played Ky last year.

Anybody else agree?

They won't be talking about it publicly, but what is the mindset inside the club Ringo?

Congratulations to all those that made the Vic Country team

WorkSafe AFL Victoria Country have released their senior representative squad ahead of the 2019 Brian Molony Cup Clash against the Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA) on Saturday, 13 July.

Think the Echuca boys feel they have a long way to go. Not really privy to inside chat but a side boasting Allan, Walker, Byrne, Willis, Wheeler, Valentine,Faulkes and Morris has the ability to be very dangerous. as stated before, Pettifer and Mueller must be stopped for any side to have a chance.

If gemmill can get back to full fitness for finals he will be kys wildcard. Nearly unstoppable when he is on and never gets the top 3 defenders. He was a huge loss for Ky after he won them the first final against Shepp. He plus 3 more are due back after the bye.

Only five leagues with representation is interesting Beamma. Great that the GV boys have eight players in the side given the state of the league: I think it has dropped off a bit. No Ballarat footy league blokes. Mornington Peninsula? I guess players have to initially make themselves available for their league sides.

Echuca has taken a lot of steps this year, but Gregg and McHale’s job on Cole at the weekend could be the biggest. Brett and Wardle - aside from Holland - were key to Shepp’s win with their defensive jobs on GF day. I still think Ky won’t let it get close, but Echuca seems the only team with a realistic shot at it.

Yep. The seconds are doing real well but it’s probably cause it’s filled with guys that have played a little senior footy but never really held their spot up there.

Moving forward they have some major recruiting to do.

The big plus at Rochy is Dave Williams involvement with the 3rds

Good point Passenger regarding big bodies. They tried to address that recruiting Russell, Bartels and Miller. One of the bigger bodies they had last year in Cory Windridge is now playing twos has not helped. Not as fit as last year and to be honest, for his size he is disappointing.

Not sure about Rhys Free to be fair mate. He has played good footy at CHB but was recruited as a forward. Seems to lack confidence when forward and runs under the footy a bit.

Has Dirty got another senior stint in him?

Plus reeves Williams Sheldon ironside ?? To come back in
I think ky will win because there is fire in the belly from last year
If it's not there come GF maybe Echuca a one off sneaky chance
You are correct about gemmil he is a big key
Will he be lured back home next year ??
