After many years of pain, it seems that Mooroopna has finally decided that its future lies in the abundance of talent that has come through its juniors. The number of young blokes who drifted out to other leagues in the chase for success over the past fifteen years has been debilitating. Hopefully, playing finals and chasing flags on the back of expensive Melbourne recruits rather than developing your juniors is consigned to the past. Imagine having a team full of young blokes who have grown up playing good footy together, it's a great story!
The Cats are a great chance to be 8/0 or 7/1. Sets them up for a top three spot and a tilt at the flag.

Any idea how the gates for each game are looking this year Vs pre-COVID .
Besides the Ky night games. The few games I’ve got to seem to be way down spectator wise.

Crowds have been good at the games I've been at.
Looking at the fixture they play Tat this week who they should handle and then they play Euroa @ Euroa which should be a cracker of a game but I think Euroa would start favs. Mooroopna do look set to play finals at the least though.
Euroa getting on a little role at the minute which is good after starting 0/2 , shepp United this weekend then two big weekends with mooroopna and ky

Good operator in Lamont Ringo, having another 12 months of his tutorledge seems to have paid off for the cats
The addition of the two Betson boys certainly was smart recruiting. Lamont is a good operator, thus the reason for his appointment at Werribee as head coach and as North Melb as a Development Coach. The Cats will have some challenges along the way but when you are winning and the confidence is growing, anything is possible. They are a lock for finals and could even finish top 3.

Said on here last year that Mooroopna had the best coaches staff. Lamont VFL head coach and Ogier TAC head coach.

Does anybody know whats going on with the coverage of the league this year? Couldn't find anything on the livestream? Shepp News also no teams on Friday or anything today? Hearing the Chairman David Roff has resigned also? Something not right here?

Yep finding results , best players and goal kickers for all games can prove to be a task most weeks. And not a lot of articles being written from each game in the paper basically just some dribble that includes the best players that clubs submit , no actual write up about the game
From this twitter post it would appear the livestream didn’t occur on the weekend due to covid implications
When I was a kid, we had a Shepp News reporter at every game. At 1/2 time there was an around the grounds update on 3SR. This was followed by a post game summary. There were also some prestigious individual awards given out.
Will hold back on mooroopna until they have played all the other finals contenders. Great start to the year yes and building momentum but in reality they would have expected to win all those games as would 5-6 other teams
Unfortunately who buys the local rag these days Ringo, there's no journalists anymore
I have heard One FM are working in the background to get things in place to be able to call games later in the year. If the GVFL had set aside some funding for them and let them know early in the piece I'm sure they could have gone a but harder chasing the advertising dollar to be operational.
I hope they get a gig. Really know how great they were in giving publicity and news interest by their absence!

I believe we may have a saviour about to arrive with an app that will change the landscape of finding footy results in the GM Region. Easy to use and has KDFNL, MurrayFL and GVFNL ready to roll. Only for IOS phones at this stage. Never been prouder of an ex student!
I see the ovens and Murray league has had a massive crack at AFL Vic about the play hq system. They've called it a lemon, where because of the system, public struggle to access scores, league's are getting less media coverage and no one sees clearances and people are losing interest because there's no scores and no coverage, yet we have the ceo over in New York thinking about streaming systems, maybe he should worry about what's happening in his own backyard rather than Paramount studios
