Would Moama need a rebrand if they joined the gv? Not many leagues with 2 teams alike that I can recall.

With clash jumpers this day and age they probably could stay with what they have…weren’t they more like Southport years ago? That could work, or the logical would be more like port Adelaide.

As an NSW side the giants might also see an opportunity to brand Moama…

Not necessarily, but they probably should, the GV has two Bombers (Echuca & Kyabram) at the moment.

Bendigo has two Bulldogs (Golden Square & Gisborne) and two Magpies (Maryborough & Castlemaine, Moama woud make a third!). Even the KDL has 2 'Lions' with Undera and Stanhope, then Violet Town wearing Fitzroy's final jumper style. The Murray League currently has two Blues and had another when Katandra were involved... plus the two Eagles when Shepp East were there.

The PDL ended up with two Grasshoppers with Rennie and Yarroweyah as Rennie were admitted during the league split and allowed to keep their nickname. The PDL were quite strict with admitting new teams through the 90s and 00s. Katandra were not to enter as the Blues as Picola already had that name, so switched to the then unofficial nickname of Kats. Shepp East Bombers and Dookie United Kangaroos both had to change kits and nicknames.

Rangers are ready to ride into future

Dookie United's identity crisis is over.
After months of soul searching, the club officially became the Dookie United Rangers last week, and as a result, has also confirmed it will be wearing a new playing guernsey for the 2006 season.

Dookie United, who up until last season was known as the Kangaroos, was ordered to adopt a new identity including playing strip as a condition of its entry into the Picola District Football League for next year.

"The design for this jumper reflects our local area really well," United president Virginia Boyd said.

"It has the colours of the Blue and Black (from Dookie) and a white sash winding down the middle of the jumper to reflect the Dookie bends and the link between Dookie and Dookie College.

"The back of the jumper will be white with black numbers and be printed with a sponsor's logo under the number."

After United was formally accepted into the PDFL in October, the league's executive informed the club that it would have to adopt a new identity in order to prevent a jumper and name clash with the Deniliquin Rovers, who also wear the Kangaroos' colours.

"Much consideration was given to ensuring that our design did not conflict with any current club of the PDFL," Boyd said.

"We're still awaiting final approval of the jumper design by the PDFL, but we're hopeful.

"If not, our second option is to adopt the Port Adelaide (AFL) jumper."

Bendigo 125k
EDFL 120k
Gippsland 125
Ballarat 110
GV 130
O&M 130
Geelong 100
Why can’t this be consistent?

At a guess, the country leagues are worked out based on distance.

Geelong and Ballarat closest to Melbourne.
Bendigo and Gippsland a little further out.
O&M and GVL the longest distance from Melbourne on the list.

Saw hawk going for a run along the barwon yesterday, he looks in top nick, but why would he play at mooroopna. It's either Finley, with he's brother, or around geelong with mates

Must have changed his mind
He wouldn't be the only one. Recruiting is a nightmare. Clubs cheating salary caps, players promised they could play where they want, and Young blokes holding out re-signing until they see if they like the new coach—18/19 years olds wanting better offers, others that lie straight to your face. Its a farce!

What’s going on at Mooroopna? Arguably their best 4 players have all gone now. Euroa is in a similar position - and now searching for a new coach. I know it’s only just ticked into November but these two seem long odds for finals in 2025.
