Where? What league? What club?Absolutely ridiculous
This one.... but doubt it'd be the only league it's happening in.Where? What league? What club?
The points system encourages clubs to ‘entice ‘ junior players from other clubs and using ‘ enticement$ ‘ to attract juniors has been in vogue since the points systems introduction .If that's the case players and clubs should be sanctioned. Junior players should play for their postcode. Demolish the points and cap and I believe those three things would go a long way to rectifying some of our current issues. Also, forget about the divisive academies that deem that you have no pathway at 11 years of age!
I don’t subscribe to this. What clubs? The points system encourages clubs to ‘entice ‘ junior players from other clubs and using ‘ enticement$ ‘ to attract juniors has been in vogue since the points systems introduction .
Elmore announced the recruitment of several Echuca players to their u-18s this year. I don’t think they’re travelling down for a pie and coke. In saying that, it’s probably more out of necessity for Elmore than gaming the system. I’m also of the understanding Kyabram approached several footballers across the district with incentives to play in their u18s. I’d be shocked if there aren’t numerous other clubs doing it in the region. Just another disgraceful consequence of the points system.I don’t subscribe to this. What clubs?

I think that's a smart move by Elmore. There are too many kids and not enough spots in Echuca U/18 every year. They would regularly tell 10+ kids they need to find another club to play at and I think they cap their numbers.Elmore announced the recruitment of several Echuca players to their u-18s this year. I can sincerely recall back in the late. 90s and early 2000 when I had certain ties with Gvl 3rds and the U16 s there were quite a few known cases where players were enticed from one club to another not with money but with expensive tool boxes or gifts of that type. Dont worry it’s still going onBetter hit the link ....
Not going to name club because they probably aren't the only ones.
And if they chose to go down that path that's up to them.
I don’t agree that the populations have shrunk . The issue is a lesser percentage of the population is playing AFL and IMO it’s because there is a pyramid junior structure working against clubs like Rochester . Likewise the salary cap and player points system is working against the smaller towns with less kids within their schools, in every comp .
It's been said before about Tat... kids go to high school in Shepp have ended up playing for Shepp teams. So Tatura 5000
Rochester 3000
My question remains.
The Tatura area junior systems have picked up in the last 5-6 years. It's been said before about Tat... kids go to high school in Shepp have ended up playing for Shepp teams.
And also the huge amount of other options kids have these days... which is not just effecting Tatura Football Club.
Hearing they have strong numbers in U16 and U14... so hopefully they are on the right track.

Full allotment from U9 through to U16, all while Murchison-Toolamba have added U9, U12 and U15. The area now has more kids playing and hopefully we see this improve numbers in both GV and KD. Many of the kids from this area were opting for soccer ten years ago. There’s still room for improvement, I would love to see Tatura also partner with the KDL Bulldogs to add juniors at Merrigum.
If the KD can wind back their age groups from 15s/18s to 14s/17s, we can get to a point where boys graduating KDL 3rds can be invited to play GV U18s for Tatura.
Did you play there? Always been a pretty well managed club in my recollection.Tatura is a toxic club in my opinion have lost a few fringe players around the club to other leagues doesn’t make for a good look

Tatura location in amongst many other GVL clubs whilst Rochy is upon the outer south east fringe which allows for opportunities if they get it right but also brings up other challengesSo Tatura 5000

If it's a toxic club, you might need to add some points and facts about why you think this is the case. Tatura has always been a pretty good club.Tatura is a toxic club in my opinion have lost a few fringe players around the club to other leagues doesn’t make for a good look

Certainly left me with some great memories mate with those great football sides in late 90s and up to middle 2000 or so with 4 flags under Hawke / Danny Steven’s/ Tony Gayfer/ and Daniel what great football sides they were in a era when GV was at it’s bestIf it's a toxic club, you might need to add some points and facts about why you think this is the case.
