I see the great Des Campbell turned 75, what a legacy Des has been for the GVL. Toward the back end of the time where playing league footy would be turned down by many to stay in the bush.

Tonny certainly got more from him than their two flags, moving his family to the town for an extended period of time. Then to see Brad and Blake follow in a similar ilk through their careers. A club that punched above its weight for longer than many.

I’ve caught up with the panther quite a few times on my trips through Tonny and just love reminiscing with him about past players ( guns) and footy in general. But boy what a player and coach he was ?

The 168-game AFL player has signed for the Goulburn Valley league side as a non-playing assistant coach.

Prout and Willoughby are gone. Hugh Byrne could be at Nth Melbourne. Liam Tenace and Cooper Willoughby are at Carlton VFL. Liam Hogan is at Essendon.

I'm surprised a few major league clubs didn't go after their seconds.

I also think scrap the tac cup and instead have a couple of country vfl teams. Would echuca be better place to land recruits than the made up Bendigo teams? We have so many young guys moving away from the region to.try their luck at vfl level, it's such a wasted opportunity with 0 vic country vfl teams. How many gvfl and bfl kids are playing vfl sanfl and wafl currently?
