Re: Official GVFL Thread (part 2)

Bit of guess work alright. Pretty hard picking ladders in October based on a few big footy stories of player pick ups and losses.

No shit mate, just take the easy way then and say its too hard! Why not back your judgement on who you think is capable of improvement and on who clubs have signed to date, it is tough but just have a crack at it rather than sitting on the fence you girl.

Having a good day?

Nah, I'll stick with sitting on the fence at this stage. Don't take it too personally:rolleyes:

Re: Official GVFL Thread (part 2)

Tatura have just signed Numurkah gun on-baller Linc Wellington.

If true hard to imagine 4 bigger signings in the GV for next year than Little,Trewin,Owen and Wellington at Tat. Could be bigger still if they get Iacobucci. They're coming from a long way back but you would think these guys would help make them competitive.

I dont think Iacobucci will come up to Gv he will get some hefty offers to play down in Melbourne.

Re: Official GVFL Thread (part 2)

are the swans getting back Ex carlton footballer Justin Davies?
Played for swan Hill this year and won a premership as the coach Cal Beasy played footy with him at carlton as well.
Would be a huge recruit for the swans if they could get davies back.!

he's a united boy through and through, so can't see him signing at the Swans

Re: Official GVFL Thread (part 2)

heard paul kirby also signed with tat
Great info Sliden.....where do you get your intel from? Not even in Shep News yet. Only had Avondale boys in yesterdays paper and nothing on Linc or Paul signings yet. Handy for us to have a whole new midfield for 2009!

Yippee....Yippee :D:D:D:D:D:D

Re: Official GVFL Thread (part 2)

Reigning Asian champions the Dubai Heat took on the newly formed Dubai Dragons at the Jebel Ali centre of excellence and once again the Heat proved why they are one of the most formidable teams competing in any league outside Australia by beating the Dragons 18.12 to 4.6 with strong performances by BOG Sam Troon, former Collingwood and Sydney stalwart Andrew Schauble and Cameron Hotton who once again made sure that the Heats backline was almost impenetrable. The Dragons performed well in the 2nd quarter actually out scoring the Heat by a goal and a point with Nick Hart and Chris Weise both putting in stellar performances however their heroics weren’t enough to stop the Heat proving that they are the team to beat in the Middle East

- Interesting to see former mansfield star, Cam Hotton, in the middle east.

Thats because they havent signed YET. Linc will put pen to paper at some stage over the next couple of days. Kirbs is still getting pressure to have a crack at 3 in a row with Wang, the bloke he travels with ( Ben Cosgriff ) has just signed with Wang again so the decision will be tough for Kirbs.

Throw another couple of names into that ring in Roberts and Warnett probably not next year but the one after and Tat are right back up there fighting for a top 3 spot.

Davies staying at swan hill, as he wants to see the swanny win back to back. CMFL catching up to the other strong leagues such as the GVFL.

He's been over there since the end of last season, which is why he's not playing at Mansfield.

Also interesting to note, they haven't yet mastered the use of full stops over in the UAE. That's one very long opening sentence.

Will Benny Cosgriff follow Kirby to Tat or will he play in Shepp somewhere?

Re: Official GVFL Thread (part 2)

cosgriff signing at wang was in the border mail about two weeks ago, it quoted him as saying he had signed for next season and that he was having a shoulder reco... forgive me if this is wrong but it defintely was in the local paper up this way[albury]

Theres a few clubs apparently still talking to him around Shepp so it doesn't sound like his a certainty to go back to Wang, even if the paper does state that.
