Re: Official GVFL Thread (part 2)

Steve went back to Rushworth to play alongside the brothers of his wife, who's Grandfather (a GVFL and KDFL legend) was terminally ill and was unlikely to see the year out. If you looked into the whole situation rather than just what your inferior brain can comprehend you would also see that Steve won a Premiership and B&F that year. The Grandfather past away shortly after the Grand Final, so was pretty nice for him to see his Grandchildren and Steve play in a flag together. Now with Rochy sitting 3rd surely Steve must be still pretty handy to have a cemented position in the side?

I'm sure Stevie has he fair share of haters out there, due to the amount of crap that comes out of his mouth, whether its behind the stumps or on the footy field. One thing that can't be questioned is his commitment to Rochester Scum United CC and the football Club. Only downfall is the fact that they had to order in in shorts this year to accomodate his rear end.

This seymour and echuca is not even slightly ammusing keep up the good work...........

Re: Official GVFL Thread (part 2)

Atkins, Singh & Whithers on $4000 together, you are so far off the mark its not funny, that would mean they are each on roughly $1300 a game. I know for a fact that none are on that letter loan 3. Just worry about the footy mate and comment on things that you have any idea about. Everyone pays money its part and parcel of the league now. How much who spends is all speculation, Seymour has spent up for the last 3 years and look what they have achieved and good luck to them. The secret is notr spendiing up big its keeping the blokes you pay for at your club for years on end.
Are you including sign on fees into that approx $1,300 a game? singh would have cost kyabram $25,000 this year with out a doubt..he wouldnt play for less

$25,000!! Thats more than CD makes in a year at McDonalds putting pickles on burgers, even when you include all the overtime he does. Maybe he should pull the boots on for Ky next year.....

They don't do sign on fees mate, never have. Who gives a sh1t anyway. Its all here say. I'm sure the blokes from Heidelberg aren't driving up the highway to Mooroopna every week for a couple a hundred a game. But they are playing good footy and coincidently Mooroopna is on top. I'll say it again, everybody is spending money in the league get over it.

The fact that i didn't look into or know the whole situation is completly irrelavent mate, was just simply my opinion on what i saw and heard on gameday about a particular individual who was carrying on a bit at times, even the umps told him to just chill out a bit !:p.

I take back the Rushworh infrence as i'm familiar with the family link in regards to the grandfather (that would be 1953 morrison medal winner W.Cruz wouldn't it ? ). It (the grand final)was a very touching story and a great moment for the family and friends i'm sure :).

Re: Official GVFL Thread (part 2)

Since when did "newbie" become a put down?

That's twice this week.

We should all bow to those who've been here the longest.

no no no it was a heart felt welcome, why would you think otherwise, the attitude comment was not malice either, in fact i love people getting on here and spicing things up a bit, but most dont, just ask cellar dweller, he will tell you.

Things are already getting boring enough newbie!
We could head down the Picola thread direction and keep deleting posts, one sure way to shut me up!
Back on the suject, how much players are getting paid and how much clubs are paying is very relivant to these threads. It is talking about footy. So if you dont like it fair enough, even give an opinion, fact or made up story but dont waist my time on this earth by having to read crap posts like the above.
And to all those clowns who know how much your club is paying their players, YOU DONT!!!!

If people from their own club don't know who is getting paid what, how on earth would you know? Are you working for KPMG?

Also, what was wrong with Bowen and McPhee last week and will they be right for game after the bye?

Why bring me in?
Interesting that you changed the last line to the other post. You wernt posting the same as what you were posting against were you?
On other matters seems Echuca has a fair bit of preasure coming from a few sides in making the finals.
Euroa Mansfield and Euroa Echuca may be crutial games! Looks like Ky will make the finals but the home game for Echuca against Euroa will be the telling game.

Re: Official GVFL Thread (part 2)

Your kidding yourself mate
What sort of response is that ?

i just dont like blokes having a crack at others in regard to fact, when you obviously have no idea yourself.

Like i said, ask Afro about his sign on. (fact)

Re: Official GVFL Thread (part 2)

If club people/supporters don't know who is getting paid what, how on earth would you know what clubs are dishing out? Are you working for KPMG?
Sorry might be the horse flue effecting you but I will spell out what I mean. There are a lot of people on here saying how much thier club is and isnt paying. The truth is that they dont. If they did they wouldnt be on big footy talking about it. There are very few people involved (if any) in a club that know all the actual figures. Not even the commitees would know.
What you up to in retirment?
Out of the racing and onto football?

On Bowen & McPhee, Im fairly sure you will find they stood out in the game so to give thier supports the oportunity to give the excuse that players were out in their loss. Cause if they played what would the excuse be? Because no-one can get beaten on the day, they have to have had players out!
Cant blame it on the umpire or the fact that the team isnt good enough!!!

I agree that player payment is all hearsay and guestimations. Clubs pay players - either direct or indirectly to play footy. I find it interesting to see how people know exactly what clubs are paying opposition players. I get it, I understand and I don't really care.

On another topic, who has been the best pickup this year for the teams?

I hear this is a common practice - - if you don't know, you don't have to reply to every single post.
