Been trying to get the results of todays game-BUT ONCE AGAIN THE WEBSITE IS NOT UPDATED, INNACCURATE AND HAS WRONG INFO ON IT!!! How hard is it????? The Mallee Football website is much better!!! anyway if anyone has some details it would be appreciated:thumbsdown::thumbsdown::thumbsdown::thumbsdown:

Tatura won by 35 points, Seymour reserves won by 71 and as you would know Echuca thirds won by about 20 points in a high standard game. The GVL website is a disgrace and has been for years, and unfortunately the umpiring is just as bad. Players, coaching staff and volenteers bust their guts out for 10 months and get served up with substandard rubbish like was witnessed at Euroa on Saturday.

Just looking at the website fixtures congratulations on the Mansfield seniors for having sides in BOTH the Second Semi and First Semi and bad luck to Tatura who somehow aren't playing next week:confused: The lower grades are also wrong. It might seem trivial but surely it's not too hard to "proof read" as to what is entered on this website:D.

thanks guys-now i know why Hart kicked so many goals-he had two goes at it:D I know I sound like a broken record but it is a terrible advertisement for the so-called best or second best league in country vic:thumbsdown: Good win to tat and congrats to the way they have turned it around. Serra has done a great job! So....... how many games are mansfieldplaying next weekend;)?

agree, the web site is sub standard. regards the umpiring, I hope you aren't suggesting they influenced the result. From where I sat seymour were beaten by a better side. I may well be wrong but can't help but feel that Seymour is starting the slide. alot of question marks over who on their list will be around next year. Hauberman was all class at the end of the game when congratulating Dirty, a quality person.

its not that the umpiring effected the result, seymour were beaten by a quality side in Ky, but the inconsistancy of some of the decisions made by the umpires baffled most of the spectators, including the guys on onefm late in the game, when an advantage ruling was brought back to the mark after it had been allowed to continue throughout the game.
also some dubious decisions related to saad saad had some spectators reeling when he was continually being held, but as for paul newman and the like, as soon as contact was made, the umps went straight for the whistle.
as for the list at seymour, im not sure of the slide, with 6 years of finals being a pretty handy record, and with the seymour reserves beating rochester, who were 1st in that competition, by around 13 goals, the depth at seymour seems to be pretty healthy.

also add in some good 3rds players coming through the mix, and some real quality players coming back from overseas holidays at years end, the future looks pretty bright for the boys down at the den.

to sum up the year,
in a year that most parties had written them off, after a horror start to the year, having two out of the three senior teams play finals, and also around 60% of the senior group on or under 21, seymour were a very competative team, beating both Ky and Rochy, who may play off for this years cup.
in what could be called a re-building faze after 4 staright grand final appearances, the lions can be happy with how things panned out.
having un earthed young players such as william holman, nick dundon, jason cole, and matthew smith (15 yrs old) the lions are set for a bright future and should soon be back into the mix as serious finals contenders in the not so distant future.

Rochy out in straight sets. Too many injuries I hear. Up to 9 players missing next week.

I thought the umpiring was very hard to work out, but didn't think that it favoured either side, Ky got some rough decisions also.

What did you think were the strengths/weaknesses of Ky? One of the comments heard was that how well Ky played without Withers, Atkins or Baettie dominating. You would think without them firing up for the 4 quarters Ky would have struggled but outside the first quarter, Seymour weren't in the contest.

For Seymour I thought Paul Colbert was the standout in the forward line, Reid on the wing and Anderson, Loraine and Scanlon (especially in the first half) were the best for the Lions. Looked to be showed up by Ky's pace.

Credit has to go out to Tatura. A massive effort to turn things around. Paul Serra is the perfect fit for the coaching role at the kennel, they have recruited in quality players that are also quality blokes which is an underrated thing in a footy club. It will be a long time before you see Tatura holding up that ladder again.

What do you call a long time? 20 years? 50 years?

Saad may have been unlucky once or twice, but he initiates plenty of the holding that goes on so I thought they umpired those contests reasonably fairly.

They may have made plenty of blues but you couldn't say the umpires favoured either side.

Mansfield were very impressive against Rochy on the weekend. They were slick and moved the ball really quickly and cleanly. They dominated the first quarter and the final margin probably flattered Rochy.

Not good signs for Rochy with a heap of injuries. Unfortunately, they will really struggle to win the flag.

Who are the injuries Brad and how severe are they. I would have thought Rochy would have enough depth to cover a few injuries. Will be interesting to see whether Rochy take injured players into this weeks cut throat game with Tat or gamble on winning without them and having them fit for the prelim.
Mansfield seem to be the favourite from here, should be a cracker this Sunday at Mooroopna. Big crowd will get there.

Ash Watson (hamstring) and Sam O'Brien (not sure) didn't play on the weekend. O'Brien probably would have taken Simon Hart. Kahl Oliver and Brodie Montague were two noticeable injuries and several others were hobbling around.

Will be a great game on sunday. hart is the headache Ky have to overcome. Lots of terrific duels all over the ground. Who will go to hart and who takes mench will be interesting. Beck and Van der klooster should be worth the admittance alone. Beattie has taken the week and will be a huge loss for the Ky side, with him out i'm going to go for the Eagles. A ky Rochy prelim, wont that be interesting!!!!!

Hart is very deceptive, plays a lot taller than what he is, quick across the deck, great hands and leap, reckon Mensch can be matched up a bit easier.

Tat have some big injury concerns as well. Lee Owen has a broken leg, he has been one of the recruits of the year and has been one of the dogs best all year.

two great games f footy this weekend. Rochy could be in trouble with the outs they have. If Tat come to play I could see them getting over the tigers. Mansfield with a full list and the team firing will have too many good players for Ky to cover. Beattie out is a huge hole in the side. the club would be very disappointed in his effort to get a week in the finals. It is unacceptable and has let his team mates down. Would think Ryan Edwards would take Hart and Vick go to Mensch. Dirty will be spending alot of time on his match ups. Kelly has got options for Newman. Interesting to see how ot will pan out.
