The only team who could possibly want Hilton is Carlton and they''ll prob just wait for the pre-season draft and pick him up uncontracted

Its a shame he was such a slack player as he did have some courageous attributes

I thought new draftees were given 2 year contracts.

Wasn't one of the arguments put forward by the Club for using mid/late round draft picks on "experienced AFL" players instead of youth was that it costs $100,000 to sign up a young teenager for 2 years where past history says they have a small chance of making it compared to $70,000 on a older recruit for 1 year who you know can at least get a game.
(Disagree strongly with this btw)

I can confirm that Sipthorp was delisted last week - and MT, he was only on a one year contract i'm told.

Understandably, he is shattered.

Others in line to see Danny and Hutch after him were Bidders, King and Vardy - don't know what happened to them, but can guess.

Not unhappy about last three although i don't think Vardy was given a go and Sipthorp seemed to have been given no development. Maybe he just wasn't up to it, but we'll never know probably unless he gets on another team's list.

Well if that's true froars then that shoots down the Club's basis for recruiting older players using mid-late picks. 1 year at $50,000 for what could be a dud but could end up another Newman or Zantuck is obviously better than $70,000 for a known dud

I can't fathom where their heads are at when they don't try and go for kids either - maybe they don't trust Beck's judgment either.

I agree, a one year contract with an unknown kid is far better than what we've been getting in Nicholls, Fleming, Hudson etc. who have no future.

Do you think that they might actually read what we say here and some of it will rub off one day - doubt it.
