True. His constituents are more than happy to be living in a state with covid under control.
But my point surrounds his lack of ability to negotiate with the AFL.

WAFC get paid dividends from a profitable Freo and Eagles.
So the AFL will short change two clubs to keep control? I dont think so mate.
WAFC funding is as far removed from AFL influence you can get. Much more independent than other leagues.

Today we had a good day, 12k tests for 1 case (the wife of yesterday’s case). And in total we have 5 people in this cluster (the 2 women who snuck in, their sister, and this couple who ate at the same restaurant).QLD is following NSW.

Id suggest most Victorians would happily swap premiers in the condition they are in right now.
Come finals WA may well be the only state we can have crowds. And if that happens the AFL should be thankful McGowan stuck to the hard line approach.
QLD is following NSW.
Maybe it is the AFL, afraid of lowering their colours, lacking the ability to deal with Mcgowan?True.

Doubtful they wouldn’t act in their best interests.Maybe it is the AFL, afraid of lowering their colours, lacking the ability to deal with Mcgowan?
Then what should Mcgowan do? He has to maintain a covid free state and has offered to be host state with quarantine rules. What more should he do? Oh, and i support WC but do not live in WA.Doubtful they wouldn’t act in their best interests.

AFL currently has four states as options.
Queensland
Western Australia
South Australia
Tasmania
McGowan should open Optus Stadium so it's allowed to host up to 60,000 crowds at capacity.

If we get lucky over the next week, we’ll be able to stop this cluster in its tracks and go back to being Covid Free.
I think the SANFL might disagree - they dont even have funding from AFL licenses any more - and they get control/revenue of Adelaide Oval for half a year.
882 reporting yesterday AFL buying up accommodation in Bris in Sept/Oct.Yep.
And that's why somewhere else should get finals.
Either Adelaide or Perth as the stadiums are state of the art and hold much bigger crowds.
It will be interesting what % of games in the home and away season will be played in QLD. 70%?
Stoopid WA and SA. Stopping people dying really must suck.Western australian and south australia have really f*** this up to let the hub go to queensland. What the hell is wrong with their governments?

GF in Queensland this year guys.
Yeah, I'm not a betting man but if it was a call between MCG, Optus and Gabba, I'd be leaning on the Qld hub.Yep that is the latest hint at what the AFL are planning.
Pretty crap decision if they have made it.
But not in the bag just yet.
Tasmania isn't a realistic option for a number of reasons already discussed.AFL currently has four states as options.

Tasmania just kicked the AFL out, that why games weremoved.
SA has to date said no to hubs.
That leaves QLD who is heading in the same direction as NSW. They have opened borders and people are lying about their movements.
A friend from work said they were eating out and overheard some Vic tourists joking about how they lied to the police at the NT border before being let through.
A returning NT man returning from Melbourne after caring for his partner who had to fly south for an operation tested positive mid flight. On landing he and surrounding pasengers were placed inquarantine.
Im more concerned the season will shut down and we wont see any finals.
The AFL.Who's best interest?
Who's their?
This is a political decision.
God I hope notPretty confident it will be in Perth.
