Pratt can do that now! In it's own right, Princes Park is quite a reasonable venue still. Sure some changes need to be made to it to make the place profitable for when large crowds use it.
BUT....it's quite fine. Why would he build a stadium of 160000 people?
Let's look at this honestly. How would a 160000 capacity stadium be structured?
My guess it would need at least 5 levels around its circumference and still have an area for those who wish to stand as well.
Many flights of stairs, ramps, lifts and escalators would be required.
Lighting for use at night would have to be quite astronomical, given how high the lights would have to be, to be effective.
What about the scoreboards? You'd need 2 replay scoreboards - and probably 2 other scoreboards. Throw in tv positioning for those who have restricted viewing and the costs are already way too high.
The availability of land in Melbourne is already at a premium. There just isn't the space left for something this ridiculous. What about parking and public transport access?
