The sign of a mature player. Think you'll find X-man is not far behind either.
It does help, though, to be getting your kicks off half back, as you can hit targets easier when spotting blokes up on the 'switch' rather than trying to hit up the leading forwards inside 50.
Still, a very pleasing sign.

I thought Stephen Gilham was number 1? Someone wrote it last week I think?
Birch would be number one in "great kicks from half back to a dangerous spot to a forward leading hard and needing one in the bread basket but not too hard".
It amazes me that when people rate the 2005 draft how often they overlook Birchall. Easily top 3 from that draft and has easily and i mean EASILY been the most consistant and well-performed to date! Considering he was taken at pick 14 probably makes him the best bargain of that draft (maybe along with Bartram and Higgens)
Birchall's stat was for players with a minimum of 75 kicks this season. Gilham has had 57. It was in todays Herald Sun in the team sheets.

Fantastic player. I'd love to see if how he would go in the middle as well. He seems to have the speed and the skill.

Love everything about this guy except the way he runs/strides, now offense to the guys but he seriously reminds me of the 'Hunchback of Notre dame'.

That is where all the teams have there best kicking option as you need someone with great skills and good decision making i.e McLeod, Gilbee, Fisher, Drummond etc Personally I think Birchall is a great player and I can see him improving a lot more over the coming years which is why I have had him in my dreamteam the last couple and is solid every week.
Yeah, that was me. It was disposal efficiency that stat. I did laugh when I read an article this week mentioning Gilham was the most efficient player. Gotta love journos pinching their article ideas from Bigfooty!
