Im with edgehead, Those bands and many more make laneway one of the best festival lineups i had seen.
Why do people like the Drums? I listened to their album and its terrible. The song I felt Stupid was great but it wasn't even on their album.

Pass. Even if I liked enough bands last year's was poorly organised.

I'm not going, but don't really understand the mentality in this thread. I'll happily shell out money to see Australian bands at a festival. Saying "you can see them any time at local venues" kind of misses the point that most people usually don't, because they don't have the time - I'm not going to 12 different gigs to see 12 different acts when I can do it all in one day at a festival.
I'm happy to go, soak up the atmosphere, and see a bunch of good bands in one hit. As long as the pricetag isn't ridiculous I don't care if they're Australian or foreign.

Festivals are overrated in general. Shorter sets for bands, More people who hang around who aren't there to watch the band, longer beer queues.
I'd rather see every band on the Laneway lineup for example on their own show than the festival.

Bad music for undergraduates
I went to the Bendigo gig and had a cracking time and I'm far from being undergraduate. House of Pain were a favourite.
