No idea how he can get 3 for that but if he can somehow plead can get 2 weeks, I would take it. Need him against Collingwood though. Shouldn't have got 1 imo. How can Kelly get 0 and that get 3. Laughable

Seems like it's three with an early plea. Hawthorn would need to challenge and risk copping a four week suspension in order to get it down to two.

I expect Hawthorn will accept the three weeks on offer and move on. It's a pity that the extra week was tacked on at the end, as I expect Collingwood to put more work into keeping Birchall and Suckling quiet, which negates Hawthorn's rebounding abilities substantially.

I see nothing wrong with the hit. Guerra had his eyes on the ball the whole time. Guerra hit Betts high whilst going for the ball and the free kick was given. It should have just ended there. Can someone link me to the Kelly vision, if its available.

Guerra ran past the ball, okay, we accept that, but he had his head over it the whole time. Should he rightly have expected contact from Betts though ? Of course he should have. Most other players in the league have a bit of ticker and would have created a contest, but not Betts. He is a flashy squib. He hangs out, dangles an arm at the ball and Guerra comes in to get it, and collects him. If you watch the replay, Betts overruns the ball too, so surely these clowns can take into account that both players contributed to the incident.

Spare me this "duty of care" rubbish. Guerra is being penalised not because Betts had his head over it, but because he chose to NOT put his head over it. Crap decision.

and he has been "offered" three weeks. Any chance he can just say "no thanks"...

3 weeks is a bit much. Does he have carry over points? Was worth 1 or 2 I thought at the time. Clearly there unfortunately and wasn't necessary

Thought the CH7 commentators said on the night that Guerra hadn't been reported since 2006. If true, he wouldn't have any carryover points.

It looks as though he clumsily tried to hit him in my opinion... Just didn't disguise it very well or that Betts squibs the contest and reaches his fingers for the ball instead of committing his body side on and absorb a body clash with guerra.

Could be seen both ways ... I see it as the first one for an explanation of the incident.

Having looked at it again I reckon it's about right. If Betts hadn't squibbed it he would have had his head right over the ball and it could have been really nasty. Guerra also went off the straight line to get him. The frustration is that Guerra didn't need to do it. He just had to put the ball over the boundary line.

It doesn't excuse the Kelly decision but it's the old case of two wrongs don't make a right.

Oh my, three weeks seems very stiff to me.

Look if there's any positives to come out of it, Guerra's body has been smashed around so much in the last few rounds, so a mid season freshen up might be just what the doctor ordered. We also get the chance to see someone else run around for a few weeks too I guess. Tom Murphy the likely in?

Based on the fact Betts was stretchered off and is still in hospital with concussion the penalty seems fair.

Seriously...Guerra should have got a week but 4 weeks for that is a joke !

MRP....."Guerra has neither a good or bad record" WTF ?????????????
