Guns 'n' Roses To Tour Australia
by Paul Cashmere - April 4 2007

Axl Rose is returning to Australia for the first time in 14 years with his new incarnation of Guns 'n' Roses.

Promoter Paul Dainty has scored the coup for Australia.

The G 'n' R Chinese Democracy tour will play Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth in June.

The tour is hopefully going to mark the release of the long-awaited 'Chinese Democracy' album which is already 8 years overdue. The only track to officially surface from the album was 'End of Days' on the 1999 soundtrack to 'End of Days'.

The Guns 'n' Roses line-up is W. Axl Rose on vocals, guitarists Robin Finck and Ron 'Bumblefoot' Thal and Richard Fortus, bass player Tommy Stinson, keyboard players Dizzy Reed and Chris Pittman and drummer Frank Ferrer.

Rose has had a revolving door of players for this version of Guns 'n' Roses ever since the original band broke up. Most are know known as Velvet Revolver.

The Australian tour will be a spectacular in its own right with Skid Row's Sebastian Bach and Australia's rock legends Rose Tattoo performing as special guests.

Tickets go on sale on Thursday April 26th.

Dates are:

Sunday 10 June – PERTH - Burswood Dome
Wednesday 13 June – ADELAIDE - Entertainment Centre
Friday 15 June – MELBOURNE - Rod Laver Arena
Wednesday 20 June – BRISBANE - Entertainment Centre
Saturday 23 June – SYDNEY - Acer Arena

Saw them at their peak in '88. Saw them as a travelling circus at an abortion of a concert at Calder Park in '92. See them as an anachronism trading on a name in '07?? Somehow I don't think so.
They summed it up on 'Pretty Tied Up' from Illusions II:'Once there was this Rock n Roll band rollin' on the streets. Time went by and it became a joke'....

although Slash is important, and Izzy/Duff would be nice, Axl is the only required member
mate, that comment had better be a joke. gnr would not be worth seeing these days, unless they somehow decided to reform the classic lineup from the late 80's-early 90's, and there's about as much chance of that happening as me being involved in an orgy with the cast of 'friends'.

Ive always loved GnR since I can remmeber..which is about 1991, and Axl is and always was the main songwriter aside from a few Izzy riffs- from what Ive read.
..the chinese democracy stuff is also very good..
at least Axl's coming thats where Im comin from.

To anyone thinking of going to this facade, I suggest you familiarise yourself with the ticketing agents cancellation policy.
You would want to know how to get your $$$$ back after Axl decides to pull out.
No surer thing.

haha G 'n' R.

How much?

Its sad how well this will sell.

Mullet-mania.
:D
yeh,it'll be packed.

Everbody now......

Take me down to the paradise city
Where the grass is green
And the girls are pretty
Take me home (Oh, won't you please take me home)

ooooooow.....wahhhhh...

Axl is GnR, no matter how great the original line up is and always will be, the most important member is Axl

Please, someone king hit the guy when they see him.

dunno if anyone else saw their set from rock in rio last year but it wasnt bad. the "new slash" pretty much has his solos down pat. i mean its not the same without the top hat, the ciggie and the long black curls, but if i could go, i would.

but i cant. :(

So can anyone else here say they've seen them at their peak, with their classic lineup, on the Appetite tour, in the late 80s? Just Axl, Slash, Izzy, Duffy and Steve Adler onstage ripping it up??

I am more excited about seeing Sebastian Bach. Anyone else see Skid Row when they toured here in about 1990? To this day still the best concert i have seen.
