I diasagree on the last bit. I feel strongly we need to add 2 rucks to the numbers we have. Hmac may retire half way thru the year , Simpson may be one injury from retirement.
So one mature , one development as a Rookie would be ideal. Use the VFL for what it should be used for , bad news for Banjanin I guess unless he is the Rookie and we match him with a young 20-23 year old kid.

IF either Simpson or Hmac go of the list this year we need to add 3. I screamed this for most of the year , picking a young short as last pick in the Rookie draft was really poor.If we had grabbed someone we would have 12 months into him ,or at a min have an option

Good try.... but this has been a FAIL

No worries Daniel... who is your favourite player again? Jansen is it?
We all make plenty of calls , its rare to get one close to right..so yes I will say I was right cause its rare that other will.

I disagree. Rivers and McIntosh were recruited at the end of a disappointing 2012, when many expected us to drop off. Reading between the lines, there was no sense getting either of them, unless the club still saw us as a top four calibre team. And despite both having significant problems with injuries, we finished top four on the ladder in 2013 and 2014. McIntosh was traded for pick 38 and I'm struggling to see a player taken from that pick until the end of the third round that would have managed as many senior games as even McIntosh's moderate tally, let alone played them in such a critical position as McIntosh. So I can't see how keeping the pick would have made us a better team over the past three years.

It was always going to be a gamble, but I won't say it was a big gamble, simply because we didn't cough much up for him. Did his hefty contract cost us any players? Not that I'm aware of, so good luck to him. And if we turn McIntosh and Simpson into Leuenberger, I guess I'd be ok with that as well.

It's like the Ottens trade. Even given his status at Geelong, two first rounders (or Brent Moloney and a first rounder) would seem like a pretty good deal for both teams. But then when you look back on how dreadful the 2004 draft was after the first five picks, it ended up being a heist.

if he was a race horse you wouldnt have brought him...he was broken before we got him....you might say it was only pick 38 however a 1million price tag hurts.....should have been base salary and performance based.

7 posts in 7 years, 4 of them abusing McIntosh. Did he kick your dog when he was a kid, or something?

never understood peoples thinking that pick 38 or any pick around that area is a pick we can haphazardly waste
