Apparently same old south over the last couple of weeks. Dads that think there bigger then the club and that there sons are stars.
Surely time they get rid of a few families,

NORTH and SOUTHS was a great contest in the grand final other day. Souths were very lucky to win due to poor kicking from North and that lucky goal in last quarter from a 50m penalty. North not only missed goals, they hit 3 posters and many out on the full. High tackling and pressure game and even South's elite ball carriers were getting tackled alot. Souths only used 26 points and North used all 41 points in their point player system. Will be interesting to see how many players both of those teams will lose for 2025. Koroit have recruited the 2 Dobson boys, Gow, McIntyre and Pulling. Pulling is in his prime but the others are aging, but Sam will still be elite. Im a Souths man myself, Im very suprised to hear the comments about the past players saga. Those past players are great clubmen, as they are doing the Thursday nite dinners, on the committee, got coaching positions and they do lot of work around the club. Also dont be suprised if 1 or 2 geelong players come to Hampden league.

Interesting rumours on sen yesterday about gary rohans pay packet at the seagulls....
Would be a big kick in the guts to cobden to have both cunnington and rohan in the league but wearing different colours.

Few leaving the eagles they may drop off a little or does vardy have something up his sleeve?
Interesting with koroit and osullivan a change of heart the saints were confident he was returning was even reported by the standard.

Great for the league so many are fetting there shot at vfl

Both O’Sullivan boys had the option at Nth Melbourne through younger brother Finn’s drafting - doubtful they were ever playing. They have great kids and picked up some great players

North have dropped a few including two of their best young midfielders and depth.

Terang Mortlake have lost Max Lower and a lot of depth

Portland will be ok after a rough year

Port Fairy get Gary Rohan and some very handy on ballers

Camperdown a real worry, Cobden not as bad but have lost depth

Early top 5 predictions

South
Koroit
Warrnambool
Port Fairy
North

What a round 1. A few surprises! Interested in peoples thoughts who went to games
● warrnambool v hamilton was about right hamilton improved but still abit to go.
● south v cobden was never really a game south bad kicking keeping cobden in it
● north v port thought this game would be closer. Any word on how g.rohan went have heard was hardly seen.
● Portland v koroit as good as portland must have been did koroit listen to there own hype and get to far ahead of themselves?
● terang v camperdown same as above by the sounds camperdown were impressive but did terang get ahead of themselves.

My top 3 seeds
1 - south warrnambool last years premiers who shout be 1.20 to win the flag
2 - north warrnambool last years runners up have people written them off to early
3 - warrnambool - cant have koroit or terang here at the moment off there round 1 games

My memory is probably not going to work that one out... wasn't Brad from Geelong originally, might have even played ressies or U/19 or something for them. Pretty sure he is still in the area although I'm a fair way away these days and can't keep up with all that. Fair few guys were playing both up north and down south back then.
A few come down from Wanderers in the NT. Brad Cooper, Brad Mawson, Matt Addinsall, Brett Juckawicz and one or two more. Was around 96/97. Coops and Maws stuck around and Coops end up coaching the club for a few years including the 2001 premiership side. Great days

Good spectacle the Port Fairy v Camperdown game the other night. Great crowd in and a lovely old ground - although reckon the lighting is just passable.

Camperdown just too strong - big upside I reckon with what looked like a very young team. Apparently very well coached. Hamish Sinnott was very good (believe he is on Essendon VFL list).

G Rohan pretty disappointing for mine. They played him deep forward in last quarter but dropped a couple of marks late (including a chest mark) when a goal would have kept the Seagulls in it. Then he looked to do his hammy late (possibly back related).

some inside news here, whispers are that North Warrnambools will Brennan has reeled his younger brother Jake over from the Wimmera league to play on permit this week against port fairy, this will be exciting.

Not much chat for one of the major leagues in VIC! Thanks for sharing my video carloss who's going to win this year? North Warrnambool look good for their first flag in the league, good to see Portland up there with the Warrnambool teams.

Sadly Hamilton are still struggling even though they have Levi Dare averaging 65 hitouts and 24 disposals a game, also Sean Barnes had 55 disposals recently so they have some quality players.
It's been a bit disappointing how they have underperformed as the Kangaroos.

It’s wide open - standard has dropped a tad with lots of young talent leaving for the VFL or GFL. North side is inferior to the ones that have fallen short previously.

Funny how the young talent goes to Geelong considering Ballarat Rebels is the zone, when I went to Hamilton the better players were often described as former GFL players.

What did you think of the standard of the league Munners
Been a few interesting results in the last month who would be peoples flag favourites?
My top 3 seeds
Warrnambool
South Wbool
North Wbool

Hard to judge, both games I've seen in Warrnambool have been low scoring but its just how it is during winter down there. There were a few standouts for both sides with lots of players that have made Rebels. Pretty similar to Wimmera league but probably slightly better.
I thought it was weird with only 3 games of football on the day, presumably they have junior netball on the Sunday as well, hurts the crowd numbers.
