Injury Hampson - Knee

I don't know much about injuries. PCL is nowhere near as bad as ACL right?

Ratten said he got a knock on it, hopefully it'll turn out to be a corked or bruised knee. Fingers crossed.

Hopefully. .. PCL's are pretty common for ruckman though, knee/shin on knee collisions. .. Better than an ACL but hope its a scare or bruising and a couple of weeks. .. Fingers crossed, he was starting to find some marking confidence. ..

Warnock picked a bad week to have a rough game, do you think the MC will back up Kreuz with Hendo and Irish? (three man ruck rotation)

Can't see why Irish wouldn't get the nod. Tails are up, loads of flexibility with that option and I reckon he brings more to the overall spirit of the team.

warnock should come in, kreuze would struggle with shouldering the ruck load, he didnt cope with the amount of work today, you could see midway through the last, he was gone.

but its lovely to know we have a lot of pressure for the rucking spots in the team and shows our depth, unlike collingwood who are stuffed as soon as jolly is injured

Really bad luck for Hammer, been in great form the last 3 weeks, and was int eh votes when he went down today. If he didn't get hurt, would have been a 10 goal + win.

Warnock has to come back in, can't ruck Hendo or Setanta against Cox and NicNat

Correct. He was fairly average yesterday for the Bullants but Warnock must come in to help Kruze against the Eagles big men. This is no assignment for part-timers like Irish or Hendo.

I think the fact that he limped off the ground is a good sign. Hopefully Ratts is right, and that is was just a knock to the knee, and nothing more serious than that. Given we had the game sewen up when he went off, we didn't have to take any risks with him.

Just a shame he might miss this week when we are coming up against Cox & Naitanui.

Form is a funny beast. Sometimes opportunity and circumstance is enough for form to be rekindled. If Hammer is out and 206 gets the call, who knows, he could get a confidence boost by being in the right places at the right times very early in the game (and kick goals for example) and away he goes. A few nice taps ala Kruze to Judd and Murph later and he is flying.

Did Santana play Ants v Geelong?

INJURY UPDATE: Scans on Shaun Hampson’s right knee confirmed he has a grade 2 strain of his posterior cruciate ligament. Shaun will wear a brace for two weeks and he is expected to be out for six to eight weeks.

Terrible luck for Hammer. Was in really good form.
This may mean he is less likely to look elsewhere at the end of the year (the only positive I can think of).

God damn it.

Just rewatched the game before and thought he was in very good form until the injury. Hopefully 6 weeks rather than 8 so he'll be match fit come the finals if Warnock's form isn't great.
