Sorry the AFLPA, has to argue the case of the players, and the start point of that will always be they trusted the club.
Can you answer these question?
Why did the players accept injections without the club doctor being present?
Why did the players sign waivers without the club doctor being present?
Why did the players accept being taken offsite to what wasn't a medical centre or doctors rooms to be injected without the club doctor being present?
Why didn't any of the players contact any of their managers?
Why didn't any of the players contact the AFLPA?
Two players Fletcher and Zaharakis refuse injections, why didn't any other player?
When the senior playing group asked the club to ensue the safety of injection why didn't they insist on the opinion of the club doctor?
Why did none of these thing happen when the players are all educated about the use and dangers of PEDs?
There were red flags every where from the above points to their own improved recovery to the amount of injections involved.

Passive acceptance would be the lighter side of their behaviour; wilful ignorance is far closer to the mark. They understood their responsibility and the consequences of getting this wrong, they made no effort to safeguard in any meaningful sense their own health and the integrity of their performance. If their livelihood, their income, their reputation, their dreams were so important to them, as they now claim, why did they do nothing to safeguard them?

If Essendon FC and the players invested even one tenth of the energy, money and thought into running a club properly, investing in the highest quality training and people as they are in getting out of the mess they're in they'd be deserved premiers.

Just as long as its clearly understood that Dr Reid isnt responsible for any of this mess ...

He had far more important duties to perform while all this was going on ...

He was cleaning Alberts pool !!

Yup. And when Doc Reid raised concerns with Hird about the injections being given, Hird once again ignored his apparantly great mate and doctor for his kids, and tried to get Reid pushed aside because he was stopping "Danky" doing his thing. ROFL

Dr Reid ... what a pathetic , shameful old man he is !!

Yawn. So the afl cmo presented on the afl report.

Little calls for action to be taken against him. Remind me again what action essendon took against doc Reid? You know the bloke who was meant to oversee the whole program?

Little should get his own shop in order starting with Reid and Albert before he starts carrying on.

Amazing isn't it. The AFL go out of their way look after the players welfare and the Lowlife Football Club complain, bitch and call them irresponsible. What an oxymoron Essendon calling them irresponsible. At least the AFL cared enough, more so than the Lowlife FC, who didn't care, and still don't care about the players, injecting then god knows what substances (talking total irresponsibility) potentially producing gods knows what damage. All they, and their lowlife supporters, care about is getting off on a technicality, players welfare doesn't come into it.

Had enough of this mob. No principles from the club down to their supporters.

Harcourt has blown the lid off the settlement deed(s). There is no doubt that he, as an agent of the AFL, breached the "non-disparagement" clause which is standard in settlement agreements.

time to get our compensation

do you even care if Essendon are guilty of anything? ..player welfare?..

seems essendon are far more concerned with the 'process' rather than the actual charges....

All of our supplements were legal, the infamous warning is non event. It's akin to us feeding the players 9 Pollywaffles each day after being told it's a bad idea by a dietician, it may not be best practice, but it ain't illegal, old china.
Cool.
Please post a list of the supplements taken by the players.
I'm sure Essendon would be very interested considering they have said they don't know what the players took.

The warning would have only been a non event if James Hird had heeded it. Unfortunately he didn't, and here we find ourselves.

what did he say?

That Essendon players should use the negative tests as a defence.

Apparently the fact you can't test for HGH has quite got to Gerard yet.

And Harcourt also said the peptides were so new no one knew about them.

But yes, go ahead and tell that to ASADA.

LOL, i think i know the problem.

This is all a set up - the afl knew about this tape - they leaked it to help their mates at essendon get off on a technicality - the more of these types of things that confuse the "process" the more chance the players will get off - which is what the afl want - cant believe people can't see this....bigger propaganda machine than the CIA is the AFL....

A tape with 6 views on YouTube all of a sudden appears all the way from Switzerland which may break confidentiality laws.....how convenient... The only people that knew the presentation was given would be the afl....rotten from head to toe!

What a dill.........he mustn't have seen the doco on Armstrong last night.

Love the picture by the way.......gold

Did Gerard Whateley just say what i thought he said?

Surely not.

Yeah, this saga has exposed him as either an intellectual lightweight or a fraud. In the same sentence he talks about ignorance of drug testing and then suggests the 'negative' tests could help players. Even with target testing, these peptides cant be detected unless they catch you within a couple of hours of taking it.

Robbo is spot on in questioning the AFL's integrity. But it is hilarious that the AFL's attempt to cover up the PED use at Essendon is used by Essendon to somehow mitigate its PED usage.

The sh*t the media is spewing about this issue sometimes beyond comprehension.

I posted that Sideshow Bob mayoral ad, which questions mayor Quimby's integrity because he released Sideshow Bob from prison, months ago as a laugh and I noticed someone posted it recently too.

But that is legitimately reflective of Hird and Essendon's argument now. Bizarrely, it may work.
