I dont mind radiohead. Im a full on metal head, but i dont mind a bit of slower stuff like radiohead, NIN is fuking awesome, and Incubus are fantastic as well. I think the new Radiohead cd is pretty average tho

My hard music tastes include Motorhead and ... well, apart from liking a bit of Rammstein, not much else. Unless you wish to put Ministry in that bracket.

Radiohead's 'Creep' was a classic in my eyes, don't think I've liked much else, though.

I'm more of a Johnny Horton fan, with plenty of Livvy, Chungers and TISM chucked in.

I'll listen to all types of music with a passion, so long as it's seriousily good. I don't really settle for mediocre.

Rock: Stones, Led Zeppelin

Metal: Sabbath, Metallica, Slayer

Rock 'n Roll: Chuck Berry, Beatles, Credence

Jazz: Miles Davis, John Coletrane, Ella Fitzgerald

Soul: Otis, James Brown

Rap/Hip Hop: De La Soul, Beastie Boys, DJ Shadow

Classical: Bach, Mozart

Experimental Rock: Pink Floyd, Radiohead

Country music is the only genre I haven't been able to come to grips with, but I think it's only cause I'm an ignorant city boy!

If you want to pick one genre over another, go for it! I reckon you should be open minded enough though to realise good music when you hear it. If it doesn't fit your personallity, then you don't have to bag it, just don't listen too it.

Radiohead don't really rock anymore, it's more emotional and experimental music. Their new single Pyramid Song is very emotional and has one of the best video clips you will ever see!

Don't like 'em? Don't listen!

So Ronnie, you're John Dokken then I take it?

Why did the brother leave Cyclone?

I'm like Figjam

If its good quality - I'll listen to it, no matter what 'style' of music it is.

Radiohead are a truly great band,. Their songs are intelligently concieved and beautifully realised - modern classics all of 'em.

I don't see anything wrong with being able to like and appreciate music of all different forms.

Heavy Metal at its best is music as involved and complex as any classical composition.

'Doof Doof' dance music is always a favourite, but then again I have always had a passion for electronic music in all its forms.

The greatest music ever written is, was, and always will be JS Bach.

Beethoven comes close, primarily because of what his music has come to symbolise for all of us, but for me JS Bach remains the supreme musical genius.

...but Radiohead are pretty good !

cheers

Good observation. When I first saw them at ET's, I was expecting a Guns'N'Roses type outfit, but found another band moving into the Korn-type mould.
They still rocked, and I enjoyed their show (that evening and since), but Korn isn't really my go.

Try Greame Connors, Australia's greatest country music singer/songwriter - and none of that silly American twang.

Wrote and performed Being Here, the anthem for the 2000 Paralympics.

I'm not really into country music myself, but brilliant songwriting is brilliant songwriting.

Cyclone are pretty good. Of the modern stuff I like Pantera,Rammstein,Living End,Screaming Jets, dont mind Korn,Spiderbait & Grinspoon.

However my real love is for the classic metal, you know Sabbath,Priest,Maiden,Led Zep and Deep Purple.

Throw in Metallica,Megadeth,Antrhax,Helloween and WASP and you've got abou a 1/4 of my cd collection.

Punk is basically shite cept for The Ramones,Sex Pistols and Suicidal Tendencies. Of the grunge scene only Nirvana & Sondgarden did much for me.

A f**king awesome Melbourne band is Vanishing Point. If you haven't checked them out then get to it.

I bought their CD the night after I saw them at the Espy & it's everything that is good in progressive/power metal. They don't wank, they stick to melody.

Great to see a local Melbourne band that I truly believe will make it in the international market.

Cyclone were great on their debut CD, but I didn't buy the second one after I heard the change in style...didn't do much for me I'm afraid.

By the way BT, Helloween are definitely up there in my favourite bands and (obviously) the almighty Savatage. Jon Oliva is back on vocals and the new album is F**king kickarse.

If you haven't given Savatage a shot in the past, then hop to it...they are awesome.

I love a lot of power metal/progressive stuff...not overly technical progressive though. A band like Dream Theater is awesome, but they have to realise that we KNOW they're great musicians, stop putting 10 minute solo's in all of your work!

But I like being narrow-minded.

I hoped someone else would also own up to that.
Is there a parallel universe out there?

Dunno what happened there.
See if I can fix it.

BT
Napster is on my comp but haven't been able to find any Slim Dusty on it.
Son uses it tho.

Better to be parallel than paralytic!
